Our team contribution to the mountain sing-along was "Bring me sunshine" when rain was looking a bit likely - it worked! Great weather - I even got a bit sunburnt! Did think the Harter course was a bit "easy" on the first day - the climb up the side of Yewbarrow excepted! - but the terrain was a bit more interesting on the second day! Thoroughly enjoyable as always, so thanks to planners, organisers, helpers etc etc

    Hi Ba-ba
Had spare shorts as well, I was for going hard core and leaving them out but my partner thought not, I put a small bottle of 10 year single malt and one of Southern Comfort, but my mate wouldn’t drink it, and as I wasn’t going to drink alone they got left at home. Like your style with the singing.

We had a great time thanks and did much better on day 2, I think we wereenjoying ourselves in the sun too much on day 1 hence the slow time but what'sthe point in rushing back to camp when you can play out on the hills?

Glad you enjoyed your first MM and say hello to your friend. Might you doanother one sometime?
    Mrs Stagger
We also had a better day on Sunday, we managed to only go through the swamps that everybody else did without finding any extra ones to tramp though. Nigel has been over and I showed him this thread, he says Hi, some of you may know him, he was mentioned in the “Feet In the clouds book” he got hit by a boulder at the Borrowdale fell race a few years ago, and Pete changed the course after that, hence my constant “boulder jokes” when climbing above him.

Well done Dux de lux on your win,

I guess one of the reasons I was able to enjoy myself somuch was because me and my partner are at different levels, although he has done many MMs I am a little quicker so I was never out my comfort zone.

Would I do another errrrrmmmmmmm well

    Already booked for the RAB.

However my partner for this one as well as being very experienced in MM he is as least as fast and fit as me if not fitter and very competitive, you might find me crying not laughing next time.

glad you are up for more Tahr. See you at the RAB.
Weight of sack is always a difficult one for me. I hate being cold or hungry and feel I have to pack for worst case scenario.
Without long sleeve thermal, spare undies, spare socks, tiny mirror for contact lenses, neo air, a tiny extra bit of food just in case, thinner lighter over trousers, less pain killers I am not sure what i could have left out. Total I might have saved could be about 500g, but at what cost IF it had been cold and wet?? (oh , could have run in longs on day 1 and so not carried any for kit requirements so saved another 140g) Did leave out silk sleeping bag liner- which is why I woke up chilly at 3am perhaps

I'm convinced Black Comb was the quickest, as on that leg we're in the top 25% rather than the bottom 25% as on all the rest! Our other choices were probably about equal at best - but we enjoyed them which is the main thing at our level

Looking forward to the RAB, but tempted to give the Mourne a go in September. Then there's the OMM, and new overnight event in January, oh and just got details of the Grampian event in November...

If anyone's accidentally acquired an extra carrier bag full of dirty running kit it may be mine - last seen in the camping field or parking area
