It's a great race flagged normally - all on runnable track and trod until after the nasty climb up Pule Hill!
Lots of big grass tussocks across the top on the way down to the track where the race starts.
The spread laid on in the cricket club after makes it all worth while!
Details are all up on the Holmfirth Harriers website.
I should warn you that it has been changed a little since last year, particularly the finish. This makes the race slightly longer, hillier and rougher underfoot.
See you all at the weekend.
my first proper fell race since last November
black/white Fell Ponies vest for me

Scramble the rock face through the glare of morning sun — to run
All I can remember from last year was the blizzard that started just as the race started. It was blooming cold all way round. I'm sure that this was the first race where I have worn a jacket!
Now that I have warmed up at Windmills today, shall I have a trot out tomorrow?
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

Yesterday must have loosened my legs up. Had a cracking run out, really enjoyed the new bit, and the cakes! Top notch.

Didn't you fancy a bit of a recovery run after the Hobble?
You can tell that husband of your's that the jinx has gone. Not one fall after his shouts of encouragement.

A good effort by all who ran.
Mrs and myself along with a band of locals gave verbal encouragement at the top of pule hill to most of the field.
Mr (GB) Chairman was going well
Well done to Holmfirth on another good event.
