I quite like the Franglais. Cote de Buttertubs etc. Gives it a certain je ne sais quoi!?
I guess a lot of it stems from this race being a spin off from the TdeF and that it's now run by the same organisation, but a lot of cycling parlance is just French anyway - peleton, musette etc, etc.

Also the television graphics show "Tete de la Course" instead of Head of the Race. The Italians do not put up with this pretentious bollocks on the Giro so why should we?
Ee lad, hast tha' ridden up Ventoux Bank?

Oh No they are trying to get the Vuelta now. Are we going to have the Colina la Suttona Banka or Ladera la Kettlewella or they might do a finishing circuit of the Rhubarba Trianglea and then have Pontefracta Cakesa for tea!

I actually like the way it's all in french, it prompts me to expand my vocabulary.

"Ou est l'horaire de la deuxieme etape"?

It's a quaintly English thing to go abroad and expect everyone to speak english, i really like the way we're all learning to speak french here whether we like it or not.

We sat outside the house yesterday with cowbells. An old fella rode by (Breezie’s age?) after the race and I shouted, ‘eh up! Allez’. The guy turned round and smiled

Route goes past our house and the road is closed so we’ll be outside cheering and waving no doubt
