    I came across this route which is even more helpful than Tea's suggestion. I think this was the way we went.

    Wish we had had this diagram beforehand – very clear ! We must have gone up Mickledore Chimney then back tracked and went up the way shown here. Must say we started to feel like taking Tea’s route at one point……...

    Still reckon I would opt for Lord’s Rake next time (!!) unless very dry.

    Yes, we tried heading up the chimney first and then we think we worked our way round to the route shown.

    T'was bloody hard finding it from the top in the mist (to hang down the rope)

    Here is a series of pictures showing how to get up Broadstand without the use of a rope.

    That's the way I went a couple of weeks ago with Daz & Marvin, but the rock was so wet my shoes were slipping all over the place. I ended up with a most inelegant stomach shuffle over the ledge. Never any danger of falling, of course, thanks to Rich T's rope.
