The section from the road to the summit is on the Pennine Way so I suppose it's been done for that. I've not been up on Pinhaw for a while now so hadn't realised that work had been done. It used to be one of my regular runs and the moor section could vary quite quickly from bog to concrete. I'd forgotten about the race otherwise I'd have wandered round and helped.

Without me you'd be one place nearer the back

Wondered where you'd got to Bob! I went up as far as the road crossing (I was marshaling) so didn't see the summit either. Pinhaw is a favourite run out for Dave C and he hadn't mentioned it either

    listen 'ere pillock...

    4th & 1st vet Nick Charlesworth...Nick was 44th at the 3Peaks last Saturday...he beat Smithson by over 20 minutes.

The first two runners are both too young to enter the 3Peaks and Ted Mason has raced the peaks in 3.25 a few years ago.

I could name several Wharfedale Harriers that ran this race and also completed the 3Peaks last Saturday.

On the other hand Paul you could continue with your ironic, pithy, provocative, satirical and amusing posts which never fail to enliven the Forum.
