Which way does the route go when you get to Edale Cross and is it obvious?
I'd go Northern Line to Euston, pick up an intercity to Manchester, change at Piccadilly for New Mills Central, no 61 bus to Hayfield then leg it up to South Head. Oh hang on, sorry, I thought you said Charing Cross...Quote:

It's much more obvious than it used to be. There's a fairly clear trod through the grass after Edale Cross, heading down to the check-point where you cross the River Sett. Then it's a hand and knees crawl up the steep slope eventually bringing you out to the clear path heading towards South Head.
Is a black and white print out of this map acceptable for race day to meet requirements?Quote:

Wear trail shoes for the race as at least half the race route is not on grass/ mud
there's some road, plenty of slabs and hardish track, and kinder is pretty grippy, but the second half has some steep grassy slopes, and boggy sections... Dilemmas! IF the race was yesterday, you might want more than just a trail shoe, but I wouldn't want to wear out my mudclaws either....Quote:
