Road Running Leadership Group
I have just read the FAQ's of this new permit scheme, after it was raised at our committee meeting last week.
What a load of rubbish.
A 'virtual' running club? Virtually pointless.
I cannot believe this is serious proposition.
Oh, and look, which races gain the biggest % saving under the new scheme?
The biggest ones, like the GNR surprise, surprise.
The ideas to spend the income from the scheme are incredibly vauge and benefit not many people it seems
I did raise my eyebrows when I saw the make up of this group.
I would love to be invited to join.
I find it startling in an age where 'consultation' is a given in almost anything new, UKA finds it impossible to consult with the majority of runners, and seems to hand down new edicts on a monthly basis.
Re: Road Running Leadership Gr
Saw your post last night and thought there might have been at least a few replies to it by now, so for what it's worth here's my opinion .... without knowing any details of the new permit scheme you seem to be suggesting that UKA are using 'us' as a cash cow (or unfairly discriminating against us in some way), if this is the case we can hardly be surprised, after all runners who regularly support smaller local races are made up, in the main, from the bedrock of our sport, namely the running clubs, and UKA obviously see us part of their organisation that needn't be consulted upon only dictated to.
