Re: Longmynd hike entries
Oops
I was planning to enter but had not thought that far ahead yet
I have a trophy to return so it looks like I will now be asking someone to take it for me.
Re: Longmynd hike entries
Same here. I went to enter this week and had to settle for the reserve list. I think its a 450 entry limit and cannot believe they have reached that. Last year it was full but only in the last week did it start to fill up
Re: Longmynd hike entries
Sorry its 550 entry limit. I emailed the organisor a few days ago but have yet to receive a reply on the state of play if you turn up on the day on the reserve list. You can guarantee there'll be about 50 no shows. I think they've tried to stop this a bit by putting in a new £2 charge if you don't cancel before a certain date. Hardly a deterant.
Re: Longmynd hike entries
Filled up within two days apparently
Re: Longmynd hike entries
OK
I was on the reserve lis yet still don't seem to have been ofered a place
I have a large and heavy trophy to return to them
Is anyone from the Preston area going??
Or anyone who will be at the LDMT or at High Peak 40?
Re: Longmynd hike entries
And here is another regular without a place. I logged on intially and found the site down. A week later, hike full. I know of two others in the same boat, one of them who has done it maybe more times than anyone else. What happened this year?
Re: Longmynd hike entries
Just had an email saying I've been accepted from the reserve list and I can now enter. Apparently they let 350 go on the reserve list and closed it. From the list they've taken the earliest few subscribers and let them enter.
This is an odd way of doing entries. it would be much better to do an online entry through sportident or similar. At least you know for deffinate whether your in or out.

Mee too!
Re: Longmynd hike entries
I've now managed to enter after being on the reserve list.
Don't know whats going on but would guess that they had a load of entries in the first few days and it looked like it was going to fill up so they closed the entries and opened a reserve list. I suppose that way they can gauge how many people actually want to enter.
Not sure why it's got so popular but could guess again that its partly UTMB points and partly that the LDWA hundred is around that area next year (Housman hundred) and is also a qualifier for that.
