Hello!
Hi all!
I'm a newby here :)
I've been running for a few years now, nothing spectacular, just plodding along our local country lanes.
I've decided to venture into fell running, I live on a farm in the Trough of Bowland so I should have done it years ago really!
Finding it quite tough going so far but very much enjoying it!
Can anyone suggest some races for beginners?
Thanks in advance

all local races coming up in the next Month that are OK for beginners as they are all fairly short.
You need to bear in mind that in almost every fell race, there is a risk and so you need to be in a position to help yourself eg. navigating to safety if you go off-course. So whilst they are good races for beginners, beginners need a degree of hill-craft.

This will tell you a little more.
You are also fortunate to have a few local fell clubs around you. Joining one of them, training with them and learning a few additional skills will help you.

Thank you.
I definitely need to brush up on my navigation skills.
I'll hunt down some local fell running groups too, thanks for the tips!

Welcome Holly! There are tons more people (probably nearly everyone on here) with more fell running experience than me so I won't be the best to help you out but what I will say is that it's a great sport and everyone I have met within fell running over the year or so of racing, has been a genuinely nice person :)
Good luck and maybe see you at a race sometime soon! (Pendle or Liver Hill if you run either of those)
