Hardmoors 110 2012
Just checked out the Hardmoors website www.hardmoors110.org.uk
and next years Hardmoors is £40 to enter before December!!!!!! I know marathons that charge more than that!!!,
Its a fantastic race in a stunning area, freindly marshalls and a real grassroots feel to it..Try it out, Ive run it twice and really enjoy it, much, much kinder on the feet then the UTLD.

Re: Hardmoors 110 2012
I must admit, I'm tempted. Think I'll try the Osmotherley Phoenix or the 55 first, though! What time of year is the 110?

Re: Hardmoors 110 2012
Can experienced competitors run without support, other than that provided at the checkpoints ?

Re: Hardmoors 110 2012
Hi John
Yes they can if they have run an event like the Lakeland 100, the UTMB, West Highland Way Race or something simmilar. I think they can have 2-3 drop bags. I guess Jonathan Steele will be able to answer this fully try him at [email protected]
cheers:thumbup:

Re: Hardmoors 110 2012
Right that`s that sorted I have been in touch with Johnathan and been cleared to run unsupported and yes there is the Facility for 3 drop bags which is ample for me.
The parts of the route I know and from poring over the maps for the bits I don`t know makes me think that this will be an event where maybe I should get focused and go for a time, as the terrain appears to lend itself to a reasonably quick Ultra Shuffle, which just maybe the UTLD does`nt,but we shall see
Anyway first off will be to enter while it is still only 40 Quid now that does seem like value for money (36p a mile)

Re: Hardmoors 110 2012
Well I have entered as an unsupported runner, so looking forward to a good day out on a route that will be new to me, I won`t be doing any recce`s as I prefer to go at new routes unseen.
Get in quick if you want to catch the 40 quid entry as it goes up a fiver to £45 (still a bargain though) at midnight.

Gonna see how my knee survives High Peak Marathon first before committing (assuming my team gets in!).

Re: Hardmoors 110 2012
I quite fancy this, but i'm already committed to RatRace Run The Wall instead - it's going to be my first ultra.... but if I enjoy it then i'll be looking for events for 2013
