Ben More to Ben Hope

On Sunday 16 July 2000, Charlie Campbell from Glasgow realised his dream by running into the record books with the quickest time yet for a continuous self propelled round of all 284 of scotlands 3,000ft mountains. The Munros.
Having set off from Ben More on Mull at 4.15am May 29th 2000 he climbed his final Munro of Ben Hope, arriving at the summit trig point at 4.15pm July 16th 2000 to give him an exact finishing time of 48 days 12 hours.:eek:

Isnt it about time some one had a crack at this record??

How come it's taken 10 years to get this message out. Fantastic achievement though.

Hugh Symonds ran all 277 of them during 1990 starting from Ben Hope in the North. (there were 'only' 277 Munros in those days). It took him 66 days 22 hours. Hugh was a fit bloke so how did Charlie Campbell get round in such a quick time? Did he run between the Munros like Hugh or did he hitch lifts ??
