Yorkshire Vets Grand Prix
Just received an email with word that this year's YVAA grand prix races have been announced - see http://www.yvaa.org/10GP.htm
They are usually 5-6 miles approx and as a rule multiterrain. The first one at Meltham on 7 March looks tempting - unless I'm mistaken its the same route as the Cinammon Lodge Chase which I personally found tougher than Meltham Cop Hill race.
Re: Yorkshire Vets Grand Prix
I did one over Harrogate way a couple of years ago. Nice little trail race organised by Nidd Valley iirc :)

Not done that one but know the former NVRR club secretary who's usually involved in catering for that race - I understand it's one of the less hilly ones in the series - not as flat as the York Knavesmire one though:eek:

Car Parking: There is ample parking close by. Follow directions of marshals.
Route: Mostly off road on tracks and fields with some long climbs and descents, approx. 6 miles
Entry: £3.00 on the day [unless changed at AGM] (remember you can register for the season on the website before the race)
Re: Yorkshire Vets Grand Prix
Did the 2nd of this year's GP series organised by Stainland Lions at West Vale (Calderdale Way Relay start) yesterday - nice 5+ miles mostly uphill woodland first half followed by a short section of road and track then more woodland down to finished.
Gav Mulholland (Mischeavous Elf?) finished 2nd while I was just happy to stay ahead of the first FV55 (3rd lady) & V70.
Any other forumites there?
Were you out watching anywhere Stagger?
Re: Yorkshire Vets Grand Prix
I was there. Good course, enjoyed it. It was a bit painful for me as I am suffering a bit with sciatica at the moment

Hope the sciatica clears up quickly LR. Unfortunately I'm missing the next race in Pudsey on 14th but hopefully there for Meanwood on 28th.
Re: Yorkshire Vets Grand Prix
Great turn out for the Pudsey race, 240 on a Tues night. This league goes from strength to strength.
Still got the sciatica, had to grit me teeth a bit and ended up walking the last half mile, the pain was unbearable.
Rest now, anti inflammatories (sp) and a telling off from my GP for coming back too soon !
