Newbie with a question or 2!
Firstly, as a newbie, Hello guys!
Currently I do quite a large amount of trail running, a lot of it on the South Downs. I want to have a crack at fell running, so I am planning a trip to give it a go. Can anybody recomend some good places to stay in Keswick for around 3 nights. I am open to B&B or sticking up a Tent.
Also if you can recommend some good places to start that would be appreciated.
Cheers.

PauloTG, similar to me: I did a lot of running in the Surrey hills / North Downs before I entered my first fell race a year ago.
B&Bs in Keswick can be found cheaply: I've had perfectly good single rooms for £26 a night. Cartwheel and Lincoln House are two that I have found v comfy and welcoming. Check out tripadvisor for 'Keswick B&Bs' to suss out which are better, then google the B&B for its website and most of them have online tariffs / availability these days ...
The YHA is good also but to be honest at £20 a night (they insist on including breakfast, which is annoying, cos it's sh * te), I'd rather spend the extra £7 and get a B&B.
Campsite that I've used is at Castlerigg Hall (there's another called Castlerigg Farm right across the road)
Good facilities, 10-ming stroll downhill into town, 20 min stagger back up.

I stayed there on a recommendation from another forumitie.;)
Re: Newbie with a question or
The camping barn at Sykeside (Brotherswater) is very good and £14 pounds per night. It has great access to Fairfield, Hellvelyn and even High Street.
Great beer too.... Jennings Cumberland Ale, Cheers
