Msr Pocket Rocket or similar. Flavoured cous cous from the supermarket is easy and tastes ok. You can chuck a sachet of tuna in too.
I use a Optimus Crux for its compactness on MMs. I must say that it is a great little stove. Due to the folding (ball joint) construction you can expect a marginal amount of play, but this does not detract from the sturdyness of a lightwight stove IMHO. I have used it lots and have never had a problem.
My PW kit has a mini Trangia in it. It takes longer to boil water (12m/ltr) but it has the fewest moving parts and is therefore the most reliable, the cheapest and most widely available fuel, and it is virtually impossible to run out of fuel because you can physically see how much you've got; you can't look into a gas canister. If you want convenience get an LPG stove but i think the positives of a Trangia outweigh the negatives.
Don't forget the Kelly Kettle for sheer entertainment value! Mine goes virtually everywhere when weight is no object.
The Coleman F1 Power Stove is the fastest boiling one I've come across. But Coleman do cheaper ones, all of which are very efficient and lightweight.
Anyone tried one of these.
obviously and optimus crux copy but a claimed weight of 48grams which is way lighter. Not sure of the quality, felt a bit weedy in the shop. Cheaper though

I tend to go for cous cous or rice cooked either on an antigravity gear alcohol stove and an MSR 2l titan pot or kettle, or if I'm on my own I use a Brasslite micro (that model is now discountinued but they do similar ones) and an MSR Titan mug in combination with a cosy. All really light stuff and easy to use. James.

You can sometimes get some of this stuff from the UK from:

This gelert micro stove is an absolute bargain, cos it's basically the same thing as the MSR Pocket Rocket at half the price
but if weight / size isn't an issue you may as well go for something bigger and more powerful
Pocket rocket.
Thanks for the advice folks :-)
