I was just going to start a very similar thread but I'm torn between Haglofs OZ and the OMM Kamleika, hadn't considered the TNF Triumph.
No experience of the TNF jacket, but the Haglofs Oz is the best bit of kit I've ever bought... super, super lightweight and totally waterproof.
After seeing my girlfriends Kamleika get wetted out on this year's Saunders I'd steer clear of that material. I was amazed at how much water it held. Once we got home (2 hours or so after having finished) you could still wring water out of it and it weighed a ton. The Oz was already dry. The build quality on all the OMM stuff is great, but I don't think the Kamleika material is up to much in seriously wet weather. Their new eVent jacked will no doubt be much better.
there some new omm (event) stuff due out end of this month (bit more pricey than the current stuff though).
I also swear by Haglofs (looking to snap up a spitz cheap once the a/w stock comes in).
Another vote for the Haglofs Ozo.
When I first bought it I was a bit dubious about how much abuse it would stand up to as it seemed paper thin and not what I was used to in a waterproof. It performed amazingly well though. Then a few weeks ago I took a high speed pounder coming down the track at the head of Longsleddale while wearing the jacket. I might have been lucky but despite several rolls down the rocky track the Ozo was undamaged.
I had to take a deep breath when I forked out for the jacket but I've never regretted it.
Love my Rab Momentum. Don't think they make it anymore, but absolutely love it.
I think it's great the way on here you can ask for a recommendation from a choice of two, and end up with a list as long as your arm!! :D
I bought the Hagloffs Oz at a cut down price due to the Ozo just being launched. The only slight detraction is that it is a smock (half zip) design. Apart from that I agree with all the above sentiments, it is the best, most versatile piece of kit I have bought for a long time. I have a Montane jacket of a similar weight but it does not keep its shape when wet. The oz or ozo is brilliant at this. The goretex used is a winner. I can't imagine you will find anything better, maybe equal if you’re lucky, but not better.
the Haglofs site has just been updated with all the new gear. the LIM jackets worth a look (jacket version of the OZ)
