Walsh Spirit Lite

very comfortable, great on grass

lethal on wet rock though - I went walking in them in the Lakes last weekend and I was all over the place

thought the review in this week's fellrunner glossed over that a bit

still it's a trail shoe and there aren't many shoes that are good on wet rock, so it's not really a criticism

they'd be brilliant for long runs in dry summer conditions

(and a kind soul off here gave them to me so I'm certainly not complaining)

As much as it's interesting to gain insider knowledge about products it's a little annoying to have every shoe thread linked to inov8 at some point.

I fancied getting a pair of Spirit Lites after crimbo, for doing/training for the Fellsman, as a run and walk effort. I've used Roclites before, and liked them, but if they've all got that sticky rubber sole, won't they wear out a lot faster once I start doing 25+ mile walk/runs every other week?
I was hoping the Walsh sole would grip as well as their running shoes, but be a bit more cushioned for longer stuff...

That's all well and good but your original reply was merely a list of your products that you deem to be better than the product in the original question. This thread wasn't even about inov8 products anyway but was a forum member offering an informal review of a Walsh trail shoe.

I wasn't intending to give offence but it just seems that recently anyone that makes any sort of mention of any shoe related inquiries immediately receives a list of suitable inov8 products which is essentially advertising cloaked as advice. It just annoyed me a bit tbh. Have you used the Walsh Spirit Lite yourself, as it seems unfair to say that your products are better if you haven't.

The point here is that you come on every thread relating to shoes to plug your own brand regardless of whether anybody asked your advice or not. What did you think of the Walsh Spirit lite then? I looked at these recently but decided they were more of a light trail shoe then a fell shoe (so not what I was after) but they looked pretty decent to me. I might get a pair in the future when my trail shoes wear out but I'm sticking with my PB's for the fells.

I'm sure there will be a donation to FRA funds ever so soon. There had better be!

I wear inov-8's to race in and they suit me more than Walsh - I do race in Walsh's but rarely - wish I could wear them more often.
