for all those out who do occasionally venture on the road, Buxton Half marathon is taking place on Sunday 27th May 11.00 it is a good course with some hills and a small friendly event .EOD welcome further details can be found on buxtonac.org sadly i dont know how to post a link so your well have to type it in

over the years we done long and short but this year we are doing a mug to so i dont have to worry about order the wrong amount od tshirt sizes

Is this a good tough race with plenty of hills ?
Don't suppose if its in Buxton, it will be flat. Fancy doing this on sunday and Shutinsloe on Monday.
Yes it is a good tough race with plenty of hills. Add at least 10 mins on your normal expected time for a half-marathon. Don't forget Bamford as well on Monday-------------if your legs are still talking to you. Have pre-entered Buxton so have no excuse:)Quote:

Buxton is a great half marathon. Did it once when it was still a 5pm saturday evening race. Bloody tough in places but all runnable. Would do it myself but think it might have a bad affect on my body which is buggered at the moment anyway!!!!!
Th scenery is well worth doing this race for. When I ran it i was imagining the hills being sleeping dinosaurs.
