Does it have to be 'dirty' DT? That's what I've got on currently but (call me a wimp) hurts like hell when I put on any type of footwear and try to move.

Long shot, but superglue? What's the stuff they use in A&E for gluing cuts?

Nigel, cut a 'V' off the back of an old pair of trainers so that the wound is left alone to repair itself. This is what I did when I once had such in injury on both heels, following a very wet KIMM in the Howgills. Anything else was too painful. Not sure it will be ok to do 17 miles on Sunday though! ydt

I think the Sandstone might be muddy on Sunday so want Mudclaws, but I might have an old pair I'd be prepared to do that to.
