Hi all, this relay race is an idea by myself in association with Radcliffe AC raising money for Multiple Sclerosis Society. Please visit the Facebook page. It should be fun!
4 runners, each doing 2miles in Close Park, Radcliffe. Chip timed.
£12 attached team, £20 unattached team. PM me for more details
What a brilliant tribute to Terry.
I'll definitely be there with a team of some sort of description.
I really miss Terry, he was one of the greats. The local cross country leagues aren't quite the same to me without Terry (and Joe Ashcroft) there to encourage us back of the pack, middle aged, stagglers.:)
Re: Terry Nortley Relay Race
Cheers! I miss him too! I always still remeber the imortal word as you ran past him towards the end of the racing field "You're leading the rest of them!"
The chip timing is the same company who times the Tour of Britain

Got to work on local companies to sponsor this now!
Re: Terry Nortley Relay Race
Anyone thinking of entering a team? Local to those in Manchester and I have entered as part of a team!
Re: Terry Nortley Relay Race
Yes Vince, I've put it around at our monday night run group ai Rossendale Harriers and we will be there. bit to early to think of entering yet tho, give it till mid April.
Re: Terry Nortley Relay Race
Just thought of something....our monday night club is mainly begineers, this year we gave them the option of paying the extra £10 race levy or not. Cause most dont race they didnt pay, will that mean they are regarded unattached or not for entry fees?
Re: Terry Nortley Relay Race
Good Question! Are they members of Rossendale Harriers? If so, VLA Events will foot the unattached bill of those who are in an attached club. Must admit, I only do a very few races (racing - me?) myself these days but paid it to get my Club's name on the results sheet! It would be terrible to put unattached if you are not through social or fitness contact. There may be a few who are joggers/walkers from Radcliffe as well as the greyhounds!!
Try to get teams in early as no entry on the day due to the chip timing. I witnessed Bolton 5k people (ukresults chip timing) and they had over 100 on the day. Times that by four names per team and it would become unmanagable!
Re: Terry Nortley Relay Race
Please pass on the word and get people to enter this new challenge. With only two teams entered so far it seems like a bit of a damp squid! (though it would mean Team Ukresults would be second!)
