Running Glasses

Does any one run in prescription glasses ? And what brand can you recomend that stays put and gives a good field of vision, alternativly what sports glasses with clear lenses are good for running in when wearing contact lenses ?

My problem is I normally wear contacts for sport, but have found especially when running down hill my eyes water so much it ends up being as bad as if I just ran without anything. I have a pair of Bolle glasses for cycling but these are just not stable enough for runninng.

I just run in whatever glasses I buy - and always have done. I've worn glasses for about 35+ years and only really had problems when it rains heavily. Road, track, cross country it was never a problem, but fell races I've tended to wear a short peaked Inov-8 cap (or at least I did until it blew away somewhere on a big hill in Wales!).
Never managed to get along with contact lenses.

I just don't run in my glasses, I don't get along with contact lenses either. I can usually get along just fine, but sometimes struggle to read small print on maps. I did buy some orienteering glasses and they work OK, they just look a bit daft. Check 'em out here:

I used to wear contacts until one came out in high wind at the Mickleden Straddle race one year... leading to a long and tricky final descent over rough ground with one eye closed.

I now have a pair of Oakley sunglasses frames with prescription lenses fitted. They've got rubberised side pieces which are also slightly sprung so that they stay fixed to your head. I didn't believe the optician when he said they wouldn't come off, but after jumping around his shop for a while I was convinced. I've had them for 15 years now and they still work really well.

I've run in glasses since 1968! As a young teenager and beginning to run, I tried to take part without them, but gave that up when I nearly lost a cross country race because I couldn't see the route flags. A mate shouted me back on route and a frantic catch up was necessary. I did hate it though when the local paper, reporting on races, invariably referred to me as 'bespectacled Chris Taylor'.
If your glasses fit well enough, it shouldn't be a problem.
