Re: The dreaded hayfever :-(
JODG, Thought that I was going down with the very same, after 40 years of helping farming friends to hay-time and having never been troubled. Then the penny dropped. The wife was away on holiday with her mother and I had more cow's milk than usual to 'polish off'. Stopped drinking milk and 24 - 36 hours later the sneezing and mucous had cleared up - lactose intolerance!
Re: The dreaded hayfever :-(
had heyfeer since i was a wee nipper, still get it but not as bad hate running this time of the year though! it doesn't matter what i take it will still get through.
and yep tried high vit C and lots of milk, i just get used to it and get on with it..
Re: The dreaded hayfever :-(
eye drops from the doctor [tablets and nasal sprays help too] - chemist should be able to help you out too
Re: The dreaded hayfever :-(
Ta to all for the advice. I hadn't heard about taking ultra high vitamin C though, might give that a try.
Since Tuesday I've been using a prescription only nasal spray, Rhinocort, and it's done the trick. Although I still have itchy eyes, it doesn't develop. A magic cure! :D
Re: The dreaded hayfever :-(
There was a letter in the times yesterday swearing by Pineapple juice.
I suppose it's the vitamin C content.
Might be worth a try - certainly nothing to loose anyway

Read something about the high bromelain content in pineapple. It appears that this is also a good natural anti-inflammatory. Perhaps this acts to relieve some of the inflammed sinus symptoms?

Oh yes there is; the contents of your stomach if you take a really high dose. Essentially its the same reaction your body has to ingesting too much fruit.
