3 Peaks Race Category

I'm fairly new to Fell Running so please exscuse me if I've misunderstood the race category, but I have entered the Three Peaks Fell Race in April and I was just wondering about something. In the Fixtures, Calender & Handbook it states that it is an AL category Fell Race, but I thought to qualify as an A race it had to average not less than 250' climb per mile, and as the 3 Peaks is 24 miles long the overall climbs therefore should total not less than 6000, and yet according to the handbook the total amount of climbs on the 3 Peaks is 4500'. Maybe it's just me but shouldn't it be classed as a category BL.

Once you've completed it, you'll understand why it's an A.

Fair enough, I think you mean "if" I complete it.
