RANT - Online Entry Fever!
AARRGGHHH!!!!
This is the second time already this year that I've missed out on getting an entry for an event because of "Online Entry Fever". The first one was a cyclosportive that all 800 entries were taken in 4 hours, before I got home and got a chance to enter. Today, I missed the entry for a 1 mile river swim, entries supposed to have opened (as they have always done on 1st Feb) only to find when I logged on this morning that all 100 entries had been filled because they had opened the online entry early (despite it still saying it was from the 1st on their website and the online entry page).
It is getting increasingly annoying that you find you have to enter events 6-9 months in advance, on the day (or before!) they open entries to get a run. And what's even more annoying is that despite the entry being full only about 85% actually bother turning up.....
AARRGGHHH!!!!
Rant over

Dude - bad luck, it is frustrating esp. If they open the entries early.
I think its the way of things to come - maybe events which are in demand will respond in the usual way to strong demand by increasing entries or maybe holding bi-annual events, provided its not environmentally detrimental.
Ps - think phelps getting bonged is awesome!
