Managing erosion and numbers
Given the concerns about many new people coming into the sport and how this will affect numbers and the landscape perhaps the answer to is to ban anyone under 45 from entering a race. That way numbers will stay manageable, you will get wiser older heads running and the kids can go off and do skateboarding, competitive yo yo ing, Olympic happy slapping or whatever takes their fancy. Al could offer his services as a pole in the long jump.
Bofra can still do their junior section but only for 30+ people, that way their will be no CRB or chaperone issues and they can have a drink and a late night if they want one.
Also most of the field being 45+ they will be so addled following years on Timmy Taylors or Pendle Witches that as they will have no young uns to follow they will forge brand new routes in all directions in established races like Pendle.
What do people think?

And I think that its a poor show when not one forumite has bitten!:(
Question? Is Antisocial losing his touch?.............

Re: Managing erosion and numbe
I'm banned by this . Don't know why he wants to ban people like me, only time I'm close to him is on the start line, yet to come within about half a field of him!!!
. Little biara thinks its amusing in 2 years I'm a Vet, but 'I thought you were a teacher' was her first comment on this 2 years ago.....
Re: Managing erosion and numbe
...and being 45 you'll be hoping to be at the sharp end of the field??? :p

Re: Managing erosion and numbe
A better solution would be to make it a rule that every athlete has to cycle to and from the event. Local races for local runners.
