More Mile Cheviots MK2

Got some on Friday; took them out over the downs on Friday (10 miles 1,000'), Saturday (14 miles 2,500') and Sunday for surrey LDWA's Punchbowl Marathon (30 miles and a lot of up and down). They were great; not just good but great. They were grippy and comfortable, had a good stable fit and on the Punchbowl they dealt with being out in really bad conditions for over seven hours; my only minor criticism is that they come with some really long laces but that is fairly easily remedied.

In fact they they were so good that some one walked off with them after the event. I've emailed the organisers and I'm sure it's just a mistake (all the shoes looked similar, i.e. dark brown clumps). If I get them back I'll be using them for anything were the going is soft; if I don't get them back I'll be buying a couple of pairs.

If any one form More Mile looks at this thread have a think about doing something along the lines of the Roclite 315 for harder trails and longer runs.

7 hours on the Gritstone trail today in the Cheviots. Knee deep mud, snow drifts, ice. The Cheviot 2 handled them all superbly. Couldn't fault them.

So far my only gripe with these shoes after hundreds of muddy, icy, sodden miles is that the laces are weak.

At least mine are.

I like them so much I'm even considering cleaning them tonight, only 3 hours after a run. Normally it'd be 3 weeks

Wore mine for first time yesterday on a hillyish parkland, woodland and field path run - c9.45miles/1000ft - with plenty of mud, bogs, some snow and crossing ploughed fields (on the PROW I hasten to add!) and must say that I echo others comments about the grip,fit and comfort - a great improvement on the Wave Harriers I've worn regularly on such terrain as well as local moors - Rombalds/Baildon etc. May return to the Wave Harriers or Kanadias when conditions are drier/harder underfoot but the Cheviots are definitely the ones for softer ground for me from now on.:thumbup:

Rarely. Very rarely.

Decided against cleaning the Cheviots tonight though. I'll just buy another pair when they get too dirty

I clean mine. Well I say clean, but what it really means is that I throw them on the ground out the back and turn the hosepipe on them :p

Returning from tonight's club run I am under the impression that Inov8 mudclaw will be getting there profit margin hit by these.

Very popular, more popular than mudclaws.

Can anyone advise re: sizing on the mk2, I would normally wear a 10 mudclaw or 10.5 Salomon Speedcross. Thinking 10.5 in these?
