I'm Really really struggling to come to terms with last nights defeat.
I suppose i got a bit caught up thinking about where we would be next year, playing champions league, signing top top stars winning trophies!
What i must say is that Mancini and Man City look like a match made in heaven though. He cares about what he is doing, wants to succeed and hopefully will be given the time by the chairman.
I truly believe if Mancini is given similar funds as to what Mr Hughes had, he would of delivered Champions League football this season and will surely do this next season.
Mancini and Man City will make history together.
Coming away from the ground last night I over heard more than a few people talking about wanting Mourinho, and i cant understand this rush to get rid of Bobby Manc, he has done nothing wrong, new club, new country, new league, loads of things to get used to quickly and he settled in straight away with class, composure and a belief in his managerial skills.Mancini gets my vote.
Roll on season 2010/11 and let the good times roll, 35 years and we're still here, always and forever
VOTE BOBBY MANC;)
I know it must be tough thinking you could have had champions league football. But 5th in the Premiership is a good season. Look at Spurs' squad, most people acknowledge it's better than the current Man City squad.
A few good signings in the summer, a half-decent run in the whatever they call the Uefa cup these days, and a push for top 4 next year would be fine. Rome wasn't built in a day - look at Man Utd.
By the way Danbert, I agree with you about Mancini - it'll be a disgrace if cITY sack him as he's not even had a full season.
I am obviously gloating at the moment but I wouldn't worry about it; it'll be your turn next week when Chelsea do a number on Wigan to win the Premier League.
If you do sack Mancini, surely Claude Anelka is the only option?
I don't know the Stats, and can't be bothered working them out, but I would imagine that Hughes points per game average is similar to Mancinis. Surely that would mean that if Hughes wasn't good enough, then Mancini also gets a red card.
Yeah, credit where credit is due Spurs played very well, King was amazing and at the end of the day they deserve fourth.
There is no point in feeling sorry for ourselves, we've got a decent team who put up a good fight last night, Johnson was amazing, there wasn't really a bad player on our team last night.
We've a great manager in Mancini, great owners, the resources to build a stronger team, a great stadium and great fans and all is not lost, Europa League isn't terrible, considering our last big history making match was when we were playing for promotion fifth spot.
Europa League next season and a squad of players we could only dream of having five or six years ago isn't too shabby!
When you put things in perspective last night wasn't really a failure at all!

I like to think that Man U took the points off you that cost you the champions league spot
I like to think that we cost you any silverware this season. Yes, it's a mickey mouse cup but it's still ours.

Sorry for the rubbish spelling / grammar people; been drinking since 12pm so not at my best! Went to a Sports dinner with John Barnes, Peter Shilton and Nobby Stiles so thought I'd share my thoughts...
Nobby Stiles: What an absolute gent! Spoke to us for ages about his Utd career and how Duncan Edwards was the best player he ever saw but George Best was a genius unlike he's seen since. Lots of funny stories about him being a hard (not dirty) man of football, particularly relating to his game against France in 1966. Eddie Coleman was Stiles' hero.
Peter Shilton: Diamond geezer - still not forgiven Maradonna for his 'hand of God' incident and don't think he ever will. However, he did say that Maradonna was the best player he ever played with or against. Isn't particularly fond of Paul Parker either whom he describes as 'very unlucky' (read: stupid) for the deflection! When Barnes talked about the Shilton v Clemence argument, he settled it by saying that when they were in training Shilton would end up black and blue but Clemence would stand by saying "I would have saved that in a game!
John Barnes: Fantastic host AND did the John Barnes Rap!!! Said that the money in football was too great now; when he was managing Tranmere, they had a wage budget of £1m - the lowest in the league. The likes of Leeds had £8m so was never an even playing field.
Barnes also made a good point about footballers. Eric Cantona with his seagulls and trawlers quote is hailed as a philosopher but Tony Adams (for example) would be hailed as a crackpot. Barnes also said that he would have been involved in the dentists chair back in '96 had he made the squad.
Finally (and most crucially!) watch out for John Barnes doing his rap on the new Mars adverts. You heard it here first ;)
I can't take this much longer....
C'mon Leeds.........
Phew !!! that was nerve racking. Will sit back and watch the other teams slug it out in the play offs now.:D

For all the doubter's, read it and weep.
Promotion and winning at old trafford.
Apologies Danbert - one of my friend has just texted me the following & must admit did make me smile -
"Missus came home early & nearly caught me looking at the Man city website. Luckily I managed to put some porn on & get my willy out in time to save any embarrassment"
For sale one striker. can be rented out as a cartoon ogre.
Either away or thrown himself into the canal.
Trust us not to make it easy for ourselves. I was doing the Fellsman yesterday amd was desperate to hear news. I heard that we were a man down and thought we might have blown it. Finally at a checkpoint somebody put me out of my misery by telling me the final score which put a little spring in my step. if they'd said we'd not done it I'd have probably jacked.
Nice to sit back and watch the play-offs in comfort now. Reckon it's too close to call, they all seem so evenly matched.
5.0
oops sorry now 6.0
I can't type fast enough ;)
Strange but true
"You cannot win the Premier League if you lose more than 6 matches."
(Blackburn lost 7 when they won the title in 1994-95 but that was when there were 22 clubs)
Well done. Any team with 86 points from 46 games deserves to be promoted in my eyes.
