I noticed that - everywhere else says 12.30 though.

If there's a choice, I'm going for 12:15.

Thanks to this quirk I was unable to obtain an entry form in time, as I believed there was a problem with the web site.
thanks, that link works. I got no error message previously, just a blank screen on ipad, and 2 computers. I'm not running, supporting Zephr and Glossopdale Harriers...and all the other runners of course. I should be somewhere out on the course, having my own run out, and be back at the finish line for the first runners coming in. thats the plan anyway.

May not get them all uploaded afore I have to leave the 3G coverage in Ambleside
Super conditions - cool, gentle breeze on top, no rain, mainly dry underfoot - thanks to the RO and the marshals for a well organised event and of course to the tea and cake ladies in the hall.
Who won?
Tom Addison won in a sprint finish against Rob Hope, Morgan 3rd, Holmes 4th, Kay 5th.
Vic Wilkinson won the women's smashing the course record.
Great day for racing, thanks to all the organisers and marshalls.
Thanks to the organisers, MRT, marshals and other people involved in this race. Twas well ard.

Thanks to all people involved. Great day.
Any more photos anywhere?
Any results yet?
I've just uploaded a select few from the race HERE
Gutted not to have been able to run (achilles say no!) but it was great venue to be able to watch the runners heading out, spying them on the skyline across Prison Band and then descending off The Old Man. A great day out.
Well done all involved.
ps. Full results HERE via Fell Running Briefs on Twitter.

Maybe it was all a dream, I'm sure I did this race yesterday...
Felt like a nightmare at the time
Nah, quite pleasant compared to running over Harter Fell last Tuesday, now that was grim, only snow yesterday, not 40mph hail.
Results?
Strange things happening mid field at Coniston race.
Or could it be I've just not come across it before.
First one climbing to Wetherlam a female sat nav voice came out of the guy I was following quoting distances, and times, and how many calories he'd burnt in the last ten minutes, Ban him and his device, I don't want to here it.
Second one going up prison band another guy gets camera out and starts taking pics of competitors in front, I'm busting my ass, he's snapping away. He doesn't deserve a ban, if he's feeling that good that he can take snaps racing at Coniston then let him.
Is this just a mid field thing, or Do Tom, Ted and Mr Holmes take pics of each other as they listen to their female robot voice offering up stats on their progress.
Theres a few strange folk creeping into fell running, come to think of it, I think that's always been the case.
Just to level things up, great race, and I'll be back for that one.

First time I've needed to use a compass in a fell race. Wonder if that aforementioned digital talky lady would've known the way. Bet she would.
Good race
Indeed.
How many sheep-like fell runners following the runner in front are equivalent in navigational power to one Garmin with compass, downloaded route on map etc plus the comfort of a female voice?
Were do you get these contraptions.i want one
When I got to old man I was totally on my own and although I'd never done it in a race I opted for the tourist path for safety more than any hinge. I lost 20 odd positions but did the right thing.coniston will be there next year and cud be better conditions
Its the first race I have had to pull out off and retire. I got to just before the summit at Wetherlam and was totally on my own (last runner) managed to find another runner and we made the very difficult decision to retire and come back via Levens Water, we would have got timed out at Swiral anyway, we made a pact to come back next year though. We were very grateful to see the marshalls and mountain resuce guys!
Just received this email. Did anyone see anything?
'STOLEN FROM CONISTON...... ELEVEN HERDWICKS......... UNINSURED..
After a great week away, we returned to an empty field, full of excellent grass, and a vandalised opened gate .......
Searched all over fields, woods and fell, no sign. Eight of the Wethers are shown here..... Smit Mark to left shoulder, many have small horns
STOLEN FROM NEXT TO THE SUN HOTEL CONISTON, Cumbria, Dixon Ground Farm.
I am happy to reward any information leading to their recovery, please can you

Sheep now found.
That's good news.
Now that the sheep have been found can somebody find the full results list of this years
race.
Now seven days since race, and still can't find results:confused:
I know it's all down to volunteers, but I'm chomping at the bit to see how many lasses beat me.:D

Toying with the idea of a long trip up to do this one this year. Anyone know what the checkpoints are?
Sorry if they are on this thread somewhere, but I can't find them! I've seen the Kendal AC map, whihc is a good start, and know bits of the route but won't get a chance to recce so if anyone has an OS map of the route that would be very useful!
thanks
Dave
Pete Bland sell maps of the race route with checkpoints for the price of a pint.
