Entry form in the post, fingers crossed;)
The final entry list will be posted here on Sunday 23rd. :)
As some people have dipped out through injury / illness, thanks for letting me know, their numbers will be allocated elsewhere if and when necessary.
So don't just look at the end of the list when it appears you may have been slotted in elsewhere
Sounds like it, yes.
Doh, after entering this event in a flurry of interesting reading the thread I then realised there were transport logistics involved, which I've not managed to solve.
I was going to ask boyfriend to be driver for day, but I've totally used up all my favours and am in the bad books this week (for a change!)
If I can't solve transport then there will be a place going and phoned Andy the other day to let him know this could be the case. :(
What is your transport problem Sherpa? I will have a car waiting for me in Edale carpark and then I'll be driving home to Stainland near Huddersfield, can I help?
I was just working out a way to either get back to the start or of dumping my car at the end and getting to the start before the race, one of the two. I'm driving over from York. Doesn't take much to confuse me!
If you leave your car at the start, run the race, I will drive you back to Marsden to collect your car if you like. I may have someone else to bring back too but I'll still have 3 spare seats in the back.
Linda
You see Sherpa, there is no escape. :D
Just started thinking about my route choice. ?? err I picked a few brains last night but im def keeping Mr Winterburn in my sights.
That man is crafty and im sure he knows a secret tunnel:eek:
Is Charly...IC???
As well as not knowing who Bluebike is, IDP is obviously unaware that I will not be running Tanky's Trog.:D
I might go for a gentle spin over Bleaklow on Sat from Crowden up Torside if any one fancies it, BB Daz?
Thanks for the offer, that's great if you don't mind. If I'm too slow finishing don't wait round though! I'll make myself known or pm before the race. Looks like I'm the only Bingley runner in the race, although weather will probably dictate vests are not on show!
cheers
Mandy
Apart from the vest fetishists that is. ;)
Just back from a trip over Bleaklow, saw a few people but not sure who they were, said they weren't forumites.
Brilliant conditions this morning, very crisp and clear, an absolute pleasure to be out. :)
You must have been out early Andy, If I'd know you were out I would have set off earlier. Saw plenty of fresh studmarks, very crisp wasn't the word I was thinking off when running back.
Another group from Penistone were heading out this PM.
Incidently there were lots of new cairns popping up above Torside.:mad:why:confused: all these will do is attract more runners to the same trod causing erosion.
I ran from Crowden car park to the Snake pass and back. I saw two ladies running and a handful of walkers. The cold wind was biting especially on the exposed North facing slopes. I managed to locate the alternative path to the Snake but across the tops I think I will stick to the Pennine Way on the day of the race.
Reminds me of years ago when the route was up Rollick Stones and Wild Boar Clough, cairns started to appear and then someone took it upon themselves to paint dots on relevant rocks.
Tanky changed the route because of it.
Cairns are useful on well walked paths but not in the middle of nowhere.
