Mudclaws for sure. I've got some new yellow 330 'O' ones although I don't think they'll be that colour for long:)

Fellas, don't worry too much about looking out for his vest. You'll be able to spot Stan a mile off by his pink wellies, pre-empting the way he'll be mincing down Geronimo.....:D:p
Also, could one of you remind him that a head torch doesn't work with flat batteries - that would be great, thanx!
Cheers
Very murky this morning - hope its clearer tomorrow.
Well I will be in...........??
If the clag is down:
~ a drab green cag so I can blend into the murky abounds so no-one can follow my best lines.
If it's clear:
~ a Clayton vest so I can blend in with the rest of the field.
Oh and a word or warning ~ don't follow a Clayton runner ~ not all of them know where they are going!
:D:D:D
follow me, i have compass and pendle race map:D
I would follow others if I could keep up on the downhills :p
i'll slide down on me arse then
I watched the race from the bottom last year and none of the front runners came down the path, they were all to one side of it.
It was only when the masses came down that the path was used but it slowed people down.
would be boring following a path down there, better to go wild and lob straight down it. Well, zig zagging
Geronimo, the cliff like drop into Ogden Clough, has got to be one of the best/worst/most suicidal/brilliant/spectacular/horrid/most arse sliding/most ball breaking <delete as appropriate> descents going. Its also quite along way down. In many respects sticking to the boggy and bouldery track that aims you diagonally down the hill/cliff face is the safest route to follow..... but it is slower. A lot of runners go down to the right where it can be faster but more dangerous. I threw myself off the top last year and ending up sliding down much of the way on my backside.
i was trying to alay MXhornet's fears of it:D (and mine), oh boy, i have to face that vast descent again tomorrow, hopefully a little faster than last time:o
Funny thing though, on the map, you can tell its steep due to the contour lines, but it seems such a short descent, quite a rude awakening when you get there and are faced with a 90degrees cliff:eek:
*dons a blindfold*
funny thing is, when we did a recce not long ago, we were coming down here, and there were a bunch of walkers at the bottom having a rest, probably looked up and thought: Nutters!!
Sounds like my kind of descent... but alas, my ankle hasn't healed enough for this race so have to pass on it anyway... :(
I must say,not having done hardly any running on Pendle, that I am looking forward to tomorrow - 17 miles is just the right distance for a Long as far as I'm concerned - beyond that point I'm cream crackered.
Not sure about Geronimo though...........
I am really feeling sorry for myself for not being able to run :(
well... i am really peed off now
there was supposed to be three of us running this together tomorrow and the other two have chickened out.
It will be a long 6 hours on my own!!!!!!!
Hann I feel for you I hate being injured.
6 hours ?
Last place was something like 4:45 last year see results with 16 drop outs so very very unlikely. Its quite a fast first half too but as a rough rule of thumb figure that you're 40% of the way round time wise when you hit the bottom of Ogden Clough.
i am going to try andgo quite fast up to checkpoint 4 due to cut off time, after that, quite steady.

Lets hope we dont all have to resort to this zig zagging technique:eek::eek:
Is she doing an inpression of a windmill or humming the dambusters theme
looks more dam busters to me
