Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
Plenty in a heap at the end...or topping up tan's on a gorgeous day
quite a tough route, some nice hills in the first half then flattish second half but tougher due to bog trotting and boulder dancing
just under 3.50 for me...winner prob at home by then:D
still great race on a lovely day and a friendly low key atmosphere:)

You don't deserve to know having cleared off to the snow in France.
I'll tell you anyway. Well, it's been a glorious day with a dusting of snow remaining in the shadows all day. Light winds and so clear.
Winners:
Pete Vale
Jackie Lee

Well my Edale outing was pretty much a train wreck, start to finish. I managed to steer the train home but it wasn't a pretty sight :D. 4:07 ish but I was near death from Brown Knoll all the way to the end. I've lost whatever slim ability I used to have I think.

You'll recover and live to run another day!
Full marks for running the Skyline!:)
Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
Great day, the sun shined and it was a great race as well.
Just about to replenish those calories lost with a large chicken balti and a few bottles of Landlord. :)
My thanks to the organisers/marshalls for all their efforts.
Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
i'd say the marshals were the most encouraging, enthusiastic and fun I've ever encountered in any sport
I won an unofficial best trousers award at one check point from a young lady with impeccable taste !:o

just stopped snowing after about 30 hours of constant snowing. more forecasted:)
Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
This was very painful from mam nick onwards. The bogs were slow going as I didnt want the twinges of cramp to increase to full blown spasms. A bit of kendal mint cake helped me down the last descent. Got lost among the peat mounds. All those paving slabs crippled my knees but the lounging around in the field at the end was a really nice way to end the race... and start the cramps. Big Bad Daddy! (for all you Cramps fans out there).
The weather couldn't have been better, Edale was gorgeous.
Well done Linda for leading me across the bogs. Well done Emmi for still managing to look glamourous after such a slog, well done to Stolly for hobbling round on a dodgy ankle and still making a great time, I didnt ask Daz his time, a man of that stature is above keeping time, I'm sure, big respect.
Good post race buffet, excellent, we even got a nice certificate.
I'm now stuffed full of 'all you can eat Indian Buffet'... again.
Heres to the next bout of pain.
Thanks for Jaffa cake Manhar.
ouch.. aya caramba!

What else do you want to know? Dark Peak won the men's & women's team prizes.
At least 3 people discovered the truth about the down & up (Lloyd wasn't running due to a snow-boarding accident) - Phil W. went from 3rd to 6th, Rob Murray & Simon Patten both lost about 10 places. I bet they don't go that way next year. And some old cripple was 1st V50 (just).
The cakes were excellent. The weather was just about as perfect as possible.
