Heptonstall Hurriers are in - must be our 10th CWR anniversary coming up
Excellent, good to see we have new clubs doing their first too (hello Barlick) and I think there are some teams having a serious crack at the bonus prizes.
Annoyingly though, it looks as though I'll be marshalling one of the change-overs instead of actually running.
Cheers manonthemoors, looking forward to it. Two of us ran it last year for wharfedale. Looking forward to it again.
The Barlick barons are a football club from barnoldswick that play in the craven league, I believe Paul crabby Crabtree uses the name on here. Crabby runs for wharfedale but is secretary of Barlick barons or he was I don't know if he is still involved with the football club. Barlick fell runners are completely separate.
Update: over 80 teams now entered so not many places left. Some top quality runners coming to chase the prize pots and many more club runners turning out for what is a fantastic day out amongst the finest Pennine scenery.
If you're coming, please see http://www.halifaxharriers.co.uk/clu...ale-way-relay/ for instructions and details of the recce runs which will be guided on May 4th by Halifax Harriers.
I wonder if we'll be running through snow?
It is still not clear which route should be used for the end of leg 6. As with last year, there are two completely different alternatives - with maps - given on the web site. One has you running along the river, and crossing it with the aid of a rope. The other has you running along Stainland Road.

At the lock basin, turn left at the first lock gates, proceed to the right, over the footbridge by the second lock gate, go down the cobbled incline in front of the lock keepers house and follow the basin round till the path goes through the tunnel. Proceed through the tunnel and onto the towpath heading back towards Elland. You will run with the river on your right hand side and after passing under the railway bridge, will be taken through the (hopefully) shallow river to the other bank to continue into the Rugby Club grounds to the finish. NB There will be a rope to assist with your crossing at this point.

On exiting the tunnel, turn right through the gate up onto Stainland Road, turn left on Stainland Road towards West Vale and Heath Rugby Club. Remain on the left hand side of the road and use the cycle path wherever possible, pass under the railway bridge, and cross in front of the garden centre, there will be a marshal at this point, but as we cannot stop traffic, it is the runners responsibility to ensure safe crossing. On passing the garden centre, you will be directed into the rugby club where you should follow the tapes to finish in front of the club on the grass. http://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_1725116.html
Good spot. I will clarify and get back on that one. I believe it will be the Stainland Rd option again but will confirm. Thanks.
I can confirm that Leg 6 finishes via the Stainland Rd route and NOT via the river crossing. The website has been amended accordingly and thanks to Pike for pointing out that the anomaly was (still) there.
