9 mile steady xc run in rural Northants, looking forward to a couple of days in the lakes tomo and Wednesday with beer rehydration
06:30 20min ride to work in bright sunshine and shorts, after work 50 mins 900ft mainly steep damp cobles (nightmare sloppy) in strong wind and downpour!!! That's about it now till Fairfield.
20.5mile, 2hr15/16. Windy in parts. Took it easy first 15, kicked on a little bit last 5, wasnt stopping at the end which was the most pleasing bit about the run :) didnt eat or drink anything on way round, although I had 2 pints of guiness an hour before I set off, seen me right :) Came back to learn of the tragic news of the death of the cyclist, wouters, on the giro, tragic makes you appreciate how lucky we are to be here doing what we love RIP WW
Christ Rev ! You & your Guinness before a run ! And then nowt over 20.5 miles ! You're a machine.
9m club run last night in just over an hour, including a mega hill at the 5 mile point. Felt good and pushed hard. Nice to feel strong on the hill again
10mile, 58mins, steady start, fast tempo in middle, eased off last 2 mile, one of those days when you feel you can run as fast as you can forever, if only we knew how to bottle that feeling, roll on Edinburgh..... :)
10k tonight in 47mins ish, not a bad effort for an easy run after a hard session last night. I'm with you rev I'm having one of those days, it was so hard to back off and avoid pushing too hard (track session tomorrow).
Another tough session today. Track session with the club, 1mile warmup/warmdown with 6 x 4min efforts at 5:35 pace in the middle (2 mins jog recovery). Bloody knackered now but seems I'm getting faster :)
Toiling today, 15.2 miles with 3500ft ascent. Lots of rough ground, which I'd like to blame but really I was just having a bad and dehydrated day.
Reasonable week though, 43 miles with 10700ft. Looking forward to lots of toiling next week focusing solely on endurance, on both feet and wheels
