9 miles over Bowland fells. Started from fell foot fields paths to start around the farms to the west of the fells, then longish gradual climb along path to fiensdale head continued to true summit of fairsnape over saddle fell and down to saddle end farm and back to fell foot. Out for slightly less than 1hr 40mins. Weather fanatastic for running sunny with cooling breeze:D
Long run in S Lakes from Kirkstone- not fast but lots of navigation and route choice in preparation for SLMM. Having to be back to collect kids from a motorway drop off point certainly made us run the last bit fast. Great running weather and fantastic views
More enforced mountain biking for me yesterday and today :(
Only 5 miles on Chevin yesterday (slight thigh strain but fine today) and an 8.5 mile walk from Marsden today - getting away from the crowds onto Buckstones
Moor- amazed how dry it was underfoot following the boundary fence along to the P Way.

Found my fell shoes and took myself up over Hameldon and the moors for 50 minutes or so. Felt good and a damn site better than that running machine.

A nice easy recce of the Whaley Waltz Fell Race which is on Saturday 28th June.
Should be a good race, especially if it stays dry.
45 min recovery run to work, 1 mile trot home, felt ballbagged after work.
3.5 miles round Entwhistle reservoir, felt fat, heavy and got covered in midges. It was great to be out and about though.
Getting tired of writing the same thing in here day in day out so I'm not going to post in here again until I'm recovered and get a fell run under my belt! The usual gym routine 5/6 days a week. I am starting to feel like a caged bird.

5 miles steady, legs buggered from kinder, nice to be out though
Can I join in?..... Today I went from Coldharbour, near Dorking, up Leith hill (965ft), then onto Holmbury hill (857ft) and back again. 1hr 25, and I forgot my water  Had such a nice time I totally forgot about my blister.
If anyone wants to see the delights of the North Downs, then hurry to enter the Surrey Slog (half mara) on 20th July.

EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE OVER 40
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5-lb potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax. Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.
After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato sacks. Then try 50-lb potato sacks and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level.)
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each sack.
Easy 9 miles mainly canal tow paths, fanastic crystal clear evening good views of west pennines and bowland fells.
