It was a wee wrench I've got to be honest Daletownrunner. Even with umpteen pints of Boddies down my gizzard. But, your right it should be necked.
Daddy Stagger, on the link you can see the ashtray on the photo at the bottom of the bottle.
If your at KWL this Sunday I'll bring it so you can have a nip at the end of the race (have one before if you want).
Now then I've got a bottle here which is an Old & Rare (it's called that, not an assumption) Macallan 1977 - 2005 which I bought at the same time as the other bottle. Got a certificate with it -014 and is presented in a cask. Whats the score on that one Daddy Stagger?

Aye a nicely presented bottle
Gets a good score of 84 on the tasters list.

You have an eye for a tasty bottle Sir.

Had a few nips on Sunday... The most stand out one being a whopping 59.5% drop from Islay, very warming :)

A lovely tasting evening thanks to Mrs Stagger's Christmas gift.
Four glasses with 10cl water and 5cl of Malt in each. All good but the Solera was best Glenfiddich for my palate and Aberlour strongest & easily the best over all.
Glenfiddich 12
Glenfiddich 14 Rich Oak
Glenfiddich 15 Solera
Aberlour a'Bunadh Batch 49 (60.1%)
Smashing evening and slept like a log.

Visited an old mate from uni this weekend who's just retired to a smallholding near Aberystwyth at the ripe old age of 48 (jammy sod). I took a bottle of Auchentoshan left over from Xmas but it turned out he isn't keen on whisky. Rather than open a new bottle he suggested I drink some he already had in the cupboard, and imagine my delight when he produced a bottle of 30yr Laphroaig. I've had the younger versions of this quite a few times but this was something else. Googled it when I got home and a bottle will set you back up to £1500!!!!.

Glenrothes. Wasn't too keen at first, but persevered...was worth it.

Murt, where abouts near Aberystwyth is he? I can make it in an hour if there's any left.
Stocks very low here, little choice, Penderyn tonight.

Had a Penderyn for the first time a couple of weeks ago. No idea which, but it was very, very nice. Smooth, sweet and easy to drink...though we'd had more than enough Saltaire brews, including Triple Chocolate, before it! I bought my brother a bottle for his birthday :)

Glenfiddich 15 years old from the Solera Vat, very nice :-)

Forgot about this thread...currently got a Highland Park and a Gelnrothes Robur Reserve on the go, with of course, a trusty Jura waiting in reserve.
Also given in the last year as a gift, a Bruichladdich Octomore - specially designed to be the heaviest peated whisky in the world! Quite a pricey one, so saving for a special occasion...hope it's worth the wait and I don't just spit it out!
