well theres plenty to read on this thread and some very usefull advice. ive been thinking of an attempt in june 2013 my 42nd birthday but after keeping an eye on this thread i might be over doing the build up, and up my training and look at next year. if anyones after company after xmas on all legs or needs help on a slower round or reccies id be happy to get involved. ive not done owt on the round but am reading up and getting what hill work i can in , ive got the distance in my legs just need to work on the hill bit and will keep an eye on this thread and also take note of all advice. is there any good books on the round ? so if anyone fancies helping a bg rookie get some time in or just in a bit bad mood and fancy punishing someone on a reccie im available {i'll probably reget that last bit :-s)
Happy with whatever is decided (but if weather is not going to be good staying closer to home maybe the best option)- just need to get some miles and hills in!
More than willing to drive/taxi if necessary
Andrea
oops was meant to post this on bg training..........
cheers steve, aye but im older than the little sod i run with, or after as the case may be.........
I've booked a load of weekends off though March,April,May and June for some serious trainning/recce's
I'll be out this coming Wednesday for a good day in the hills... I'm thinking park at Dunmail, leg 3 as far as Esk Hause, then on to Allen Crags and Glaramara, down in to Rosthwaite sort of area, back up over Ullscarf-ish and probably down to Wythburn, then back up to Dunmail. Something like that anyway. Will happily do something else if anyone's up and about with recce plans.
I'll be getting serious again after Xmas, old un, and always up for reccies, support or whatever. I have to concur with Steve, though - if you're an 'old un' then I must be ancient! I'll be monitoring this thread and others from afar (well, the wilds of Wirral) until after the hoidays and then making serious plans - let me know.
Haworth Hobble route tomorrow with AndreaS, Steve and Mrs.C. Making early start from Langley so as to get round in good time and make the best of the daylight.
If all well, then may meet some of Macc Harriers for steady run round Gradbach on Sunday AM and add in a tour of Macc Forest etc...
..All welcome
