Absolute bollocks.. what do you want, heroically pointless suicidal attacks? A Tour winner should be able to Time Trial, end of.. yes, angel winged climbers are romantically and aesthetically pleasing but, if you can't perform in the "race of truth", you don't deserve to win a TDF. It's up to contenders who are behind to attack the yellow jersey and, so far, Evans and your "Nibs" haven't had the balls or the legs.

By your own admission you usually talk a load of bollocks on ths forum (except issues you are "really passionate about"). No change here.
I think the idea is to win the race, since when has there been a points jersey for style and sideburns?

Possibly you enjoy watching paint dry...after all it achieves the result you desire.

But the reason some of us recall Hinault with awe and Coppi is immortal is because they had panache. Chiappucci, Bahamontes, Pantani, Fignon: they had élan. Even LeMond had character-spoilt child mostly-but Wiggins?

He waited for Evans because he is a member of the British Commonwealth, and not some bloody Jonny Foreigner like "nibs". The Commonwealth may not mean much to you, but it still carries weight within proffessional cycling, Evans is one of us - but not quite as good.

Well, let's dismiss Pantani to start with for obvious reasons. Fignon, never massively exciting and, if he'd cut off his pony tail and embraced technology, could have had another title to his name. Hinault, an in between era, and, with the talent and ability he had compared to the competition could have got away with murder. Lemond, proves the last point that, once a rider who prepared properly and had talent came along, the old school were blown away. Pre-them eg. Coppi etc, great riders but only the best got to train full-time and have the support of domestiques and sponsors.. the effects of talents was magnified and the amazing feats (your elan) made possible. Now, with a fully professional full-time and scientifically trained pro field, margins of ability are far less and such amazing feats impossible.. that said, Wiggins' TT performance was staggering... we just can't cope with having a winnner.
