GM, IIRC, the route goes up Lingmell Nose ( steep & grassy ) across Lingmell Col then gets rocky & slippy on the final pull up to Scafell Pike; turn and retrace.
Best take everything ( cag, leggings, hat, gloves, map, whistle & food ) in case the RO tells you to carry it:D
Re: Tell me about Scafell Pike
It's an AS race. It means you take all the kit to the start and find out how much of it you have to carry, if any.
Re: Tell me about Scafell Pike
Last year they insisted that you carry full kit. Most people did.
If you've not got a good sense of direction (like I haven't) it's worth getting behind a local or at least someone who knows where they're going for the very top. I got dropped by the runners in front of me last year and spent about 20 seconds wandering about at the top trying to pick which route to run down. It's not very intuitive, especially if it's misty.
Re: Tell me about Scafell Pike
Ok, cool, I've done the Lingmell Dash before, I know the area pretty well and I've got an awesome sense of direction. I have all the kit and I know what I need to take to not get DQ'd, so all is good.
Thanks.

Good luck. :)

Excellent. Do you want to join our club? We could do with a few runners of your calibre.
Re: Tell me about Scafell Pike
Who do you think I am? I thought my identity on here was a closely-guarded secret, known only by a handful on here? I don't think I've done anything of note in 4 years, and nothing that sands out on the Fells in 13 years, so I suspect you think I'm someone else!
Re: Tell me about Scafell Pike
Haven't got a clue. We just need clued up runners with local knowledge, all the kit and an awesome sense of direction.
And they say Generation Y doesn't do irony...
Re: Tell me about Scafell Pike
Right, I see your point! I did wonder if that's what you meant, but I don't think you made the irony obvious enough!
Re: Tell me about Scafell Pike
Yes, subtle irony is always more awkward, especially on' tinternet.
