8.7 mile on Pex Hill tonight in fine drizzle great stuff.
Decided to give Oxenhope race (which would've been over in 30 mins) a miss in favour of an hour or so on Burley & Ilkley moors.
Route: Ebor way path from Burley Woodhead to Cow & Calf & Rocky Valley then up Ilkley Crag steps, down towards Lanshaw Lad across & down to High Lanshaw Dam & back via minor paths & Millenium Way.
A little breezy but mostly dry and bright despite a few dark clouds around -in fact perfect running weather:)
Just over half of the Kinder Dozen with IanDarkPeak. He went on to do the whole circuit (well done!), I bombed out after 7 ascents (I ran out of time & steam). 4 hrs and 6000ft + of climb....then 1 hour back to the car..... :p
90mins steady over Beamsley Beacon and part of next weekend's Round Hill fell race. Perfect running conditions and not a soul in sight
4 miles over bowland fells, Paddys Pole route. Fanastic late afternoon run. A little soreness in the calfs left over from Ingleborough to start with, felt fine afterwards thou:D
After a weekend spent in a car driving around South Yorkshire it was good to be on my feet again.
Yesterday was a 5 with 10x1min on/ 1min off in the second half. Felt good despite being very warm.
This morning was a nice recovery 4.

4 Miles staedy at lunchtime around the Tame Valley park
A nice easy 4.6 mile around Pex Hill this afternoon and quite warm as well.
Burton 10K last night, 47 minutes (I think, in my haste I forgot to start my garmin!). Nice undulating course in parts with a killer downhill to finish, my poor knees aren't used to that.
Times gradually improving which is encouraging....bring on those fells!
Nice run this morning up Alphin. Just deciding on where to run this afternoon.
9.2 mile around Pex Hill and Sutton Manor this afternoon in very warm conditions.
Yesterday evening nearly 15miles on west pennine moors, Brinscall to Rivington up to Winter Hill back via Great Hill. Muggy and very wet underfoot in parts
80mins or so on Addingham Moorside and Ilkley Moor. Beautiful evening to be out and about
Yesterday 10 miles on the Campsie fells including Dumfoyne, Earls Seat and Dumgoyne, over 3000ft. Boiling hot, sweat like buckets of treacle.
This morning an easy recovery 4. Hot again!
Jason
Just a short 3 miles tonight - bit warm out there!!
Warm up, Sale Sizzler, warm down. Slow time, 14,48, but won enough to get a curry on the way home. Thinking of changing my curry shop as they always manage to muck up the order. They sent lamb madras instead of a large madras curry sauce last time and then last night sent a broken popodom in a bag instead of the ones we ordered. They knew they had mucked up and came up with some more, but thats not the point. Away from today so will be trying different curry houses in prestatyn area of Wales.
:mad::mad:
2 miles this week due to being ill. (Trust me it is the kind of 'ill' where you can't risk jiggling your insides about too much :o those 2 miles took a LONG time!)
P*$$ed off
Yes me too emmi, looks like my saturday in the hills is scuppered :(
Maybe sunday :)
This week I have been able to run again without pain!! :)
Mon- 6.2 mile
Tues- 6.5 mile
Weds- 10 mile hill WALK... Carlton Bank to Clay Bank to Chop Gate and back.
Thurs- Walking in Wharfedale
Fri- 6.2 mile then 20 mins of 1 min interval on 10-15% incline.
Now let the mileage increase commence! ;)
(but not til after the weekend... too much socialising and wine drinking to do!) ;)
Steady 5.5 on forest trails yesterday. Feeling heavy legged.
Today went for a hill walk, 8 miles around the Cobbler.
In the afternoon I was just going out for an easy 4 but after a mile I felt so good I finished it with a 3mile tempo run and felt really strong.
Go figure, big hill walks followed by a chip butty and a lager shandy (it was hot!) are a good warm up?!
Jason
did 6 miles, first run since kentmere due to a cold and a niggle, felt good to be out but my god was it hot
Was certainly hot out -did 5.5 miles from home -usual 'undulating' mix of terrain - trying to keep the towpath to a minimum but its useful in linking up other hillier paths/road sections.
I'm sure others are training too and not just racing!!
anyway here goes...
Just over an hour on Chevin and Danefield - about 6 miles/800 foot ascent, very hot but managed to run all but the final few steps of 'the big hill' - not to be confused with 'the steps':D!!
Yep , just training here too. Very hot, slow plod around an undulating forest 8. Legs have little energy after yesterday. couple of more runs then easing for Borrowdale.
Jason
Just under 2hours slow around Carlton and Lothersdale area. Still very hot for running this evening!
run in the woods yesterday - slightly cooler there at least :)
Still not back to health enough to do much though - annoying me now
Another very hot run, I can't imagine how hot it must be DOWN SOUTH!
Recovery 4 on road and trails.
Jason
6.4 miles on the roads this morning. Bloody hot out again after last nights storms
Couple of 6 mile hill runs this week. Was good today in the drizzle and cooler temperature. Need to keep at it and lose weight before I race so I will be giving tonight's BOFRA event a miss.
Nice to see back running Ady. 'Course there's no reason to lose weight before you race :D
Yesterday evening 5.5 miles over bowland fells, fell section of chipping show race route. Waited for 10minutes to let storm pass and had majority of the route in sunshine, also could see the sun sparkling on Morecambe Bay. For a change the storms lasted longer in Preston.;)
Steady push over an undulating road 7.5 last night, feeling good.
Easy now until Bovverdale
Jason
Nice cool temps in Saddleworth, hour and half up on the tops, Alphin, Wimberry, Top Res to Fox Stone descent..First run after tearing my right heel wide open on the descent from Snowdon summit last saturday.....Felt great to be out, beautiful evening :)
