Today's poet

Well if that isn't poetry then I don't know what is. That is stunning. Some songs lyrics work better than others as poetry, some words only come alive with the addition of the music and the performance, but they stand by themselves quite nicely. I think that is quite rare.

The Birds

The birds are the keepers of our secret

This Morning's Fret

The lonely cry of a seagull
searching in the mist
Chiiled to the bone
by the cold sea fret

Withered sad shivering snapped
by the morning frost
Yesterdays spring flower
Wilting in the salted air

The foghorns distant drone
hope all are safe
Chilled to the bone
by the cold sea fret

Wow...I really, really like this! There is a real sense of struggle, of the bleak, ominous and loneliness. You really are very good at this poetry lark. I am enjoying your Neebotherus too. :D

Finally found a north eastern dialect online dictionary...now I know the true meaning of 'marra' in more ways than one. :)

Scree bed, leg's a blur
Down in no time
Robinson, Nee Bother

Sat down on the grass descent off Robinson on The Master's and Mrs. Crumblydown's BG leg 5 and watched in awe as Nee Bother, hat nailed to head, scree ran down in fast forward mode, a sight to behold, bloody marvellous.
