Today's run: 2 hours 5 minutes :D:o
Reminds me of what should have been my long run of 9 miles (at age 15 or 16) just after we'd moved I missed my turning and thought no worries I'll just take next one and ended up doing 17 by the time I got home !!
8.5 mile on trail and cross country paths today, very wet and muddy around Pex Hill.
5 ups and downs from Errowood Reservoir to Shining Tor.
Better bag all the hills I can get before the Jungfrau marathon 6th Sept.
1 hour 50 mins all on my own at 1.30pm. Raining hard when I set off and warrented wearing a waterproof jacket. By the time I had got to Dovestones via the Roman Road the rain was even harder. Ran round all three resers which I hadn't done for a while. Muddy and wet, no need to worry about how to cross the inlet to the last reser as I was wet through so running through the water didn't matter. Decided to head up Greenfield Road from Bin Green and run round 'Pots and Pans'. Good down hill section which was slippy and a return to Dovestones. Still a lot of people out and about to say the weather was so nasty. By the time I got back down to Dovestones the rain had stopped and the sun was back with us. Time to stop and tack the jacket off. Nice run home via the Roman Road.
Second run of the day with Donna 5.30pm from her sisters house in Hadfield. Up to Bottoms reser and a copuple of laps round it. Another 27 mins which set me up nicely for my chicken bhuna and peshwari pilua rice.

A nice gentle 5.8 miles this morning to let legs recover and hopefully feel speedy come Wednesday evening.
did 45 miles last week and 12000ft ascent, with 2 races as hard sessions
An easy 5 yesterday. Just the bike commute today.
4 miles cross country. Had to stop at mile 3 to save a sheep!;).
It was in the middle of a field with dozens of the other wooly things.
I saw it in the middle of the field on its back with its legs kicking in the air...unable to get up.
So i ran over and flipped it over....it was a bit wobbly on its legs but gave me a 'baaaa' to thank me;).
If your wondering why flipping it over saved it....if sheep get stuck on their back they cannot get back on their feet and they suffocate.
So thats one good deed to get me into heaven:D
weight training
6.5 mile early this morning in monsoon like conditions. With no sign of it letting up I decided to cut my run short had planned on 12 miles.
An hour moorland & tracks when I got up today. I actually think fell running is suited to wet, muddy and horrible conditions - I enjoy it when it's like it is today - different story on the bike though!
wobbly 4 miles this morning, most of the time tripping over the dogs into bogs!
Greenfield - Plantation - Top Res and return.....Easy Recovery run! Got 13.5 hrs (total) on the hoof last week, Pilgrims Cross tomorrow, long hill reps thursday...friday easy and may attempt to swim the 5 Trigs on saturday :D
Hope you all have a good week....
Yes thats all i did to it bcuz thats all you need to do to it, my uncles a farmer and a few years ago i found a sheep on its back like i came across last night....so i rang my uncle up and he said i needed to flip it back over before it suffocates.
So its the second time ive had to do it, once its on its feet again they just get back on with doing what they do....eating grass:D....dumb animals.
Why, what would u have expected me to do aswel?
sunday afternoon chipping show race route nearly 9miles and 2000ft of climbing
tonite 5.5 miles and around 1500ft of climbing, majority of footpaths were running streams as Addy says good fell running conditions:D
4.5 miles this morning at just under 8 minute miling and this evening instead of the usual club session tonight a short sharpish hill session (10 times roughly 150 metres) to get my legs turning over quickly prior to tomorrow's mile race.
5 miles last night...
1hr 40 min this morning..
Mon 70lanes swim.
Tue 1h17m along the canal, including a good 40min tempo. Heay rain, damn I drove to work instead of usual 23km daily ride, first time in perhaps over a month.
This morning a real easy 4.7 miles.
11.13 mile this morning around Pex Hill on the trail and XC pathways. Very muddy and wet in places. Worn the new Nike trail shoes that arrived this morning found them to be very good in the mud and on hard ground as well. A radical new design for Nike and similar to Innov8 Rocklit 315's but for me far superior comfort and grip.
I'm in Honduras for work this week. It's 7am here and I'm just back in from a 40min run. Very hot and not very inspiring out and back along main drag out of town but feel better now for it. I'll be in Bogota in Colombia at the weekend and will not be out running on the street there!!
DT say hello to my brother when you're in Colombia :)
No he won't (well I presume not) and he actually lives in Cali.
Practised for the dark autumn/winter nights already by doing a 5 mile road run.
Cracking sunset over Baildon Moor as I looked along the Aire Valley from Whitecote Hill, Bramley:)
Hill reps today...dont usually do them very much but i managed to get loads in.
I set of from my house and i ran up a gradual hill for about a mile. Then as the top of the hill i did 6 reps of about 100 meters from the top-to the top, increasing the speed each time.
Then i did the same but on the field next to the road i was running up and down.....and got very muddy.:D
Is it just me that does this or do any of you feel good about yourself when your running home caked in mud past all the nice clean people:D
Steady run 64min last night.
Steady run 68min this morning. Breakfast alwasy tastes better after running.
I may miss a couple of days running because friends visiting.
6miles last night with kac wednesday night run pleasant run chased by the odd cow need deep in somat smelly, beer and company great..
7 miles this morning over hamledon hill, not a sheep around dogs loved it off for some EPO( Enhanced Penguin Odour)!.. suppose that will be banned soon as well!!!
A little bimble out from Austwick taking a meandering route up to Crummack via the sheep dub and then up on to Thwaite Scars, down to Long Lane and back via Thwaite Lane. Took a few pics but not the best day for the camera. Was nice looking back toward Pendle, there were even blue skies evident. Couple of pics enclosed looking toward the brooding mass of Pendle.
Hills tonight, Dovestones Res to Top Res, 90 secs hard/90 secs easy to the Top Res, turn round run back down and repeat twice more...After third time head for Clarence pub for isotonic lager!
5 miles around draycote water
Nice 32 minute run this morning. Carrbrook village to Royal George via Huddersfield Road, back in to Mossley along the valley road and back home via Staly Road. Lovely run, dry but very cold this morning. Nearly wished I had put my gloves on!
Watching athletics at strange hours of the day is making me run earlier than when I am working.
Afternoon, just checking in....not been about for a few weeks....
Managed a few cracking fell runs on the IOM (what a super place!) and, on the flipside, took part in last weekend's Manx road marathon... :( Legs still don't feel right!
