7 miles this morning steady state running, slow until we ran into a bull...
Ta Penguin. Did 3h 23m in the end. Hoped for better but seeing as I didn't do a lot of road prep before it's the best I could do - flew round the 1st half then suffered big time. Came 18th though so that's not too bad! :D
You ever been over there? The fells are superb.
Well done jodj for the marathon!
35mins on the road this morning. Weather much fresher today and I felt better for it
Jammy git! Actually, as short runs go, I don't have much choice espcially in winter as I live on top of a windy hill. But it's a bonus - we have a road that snakes down some 500+ft so makes for a **refreshing** end to any road run...
Fells for me defo - I've never experienced such pain as I had at the 12mile mark on the mara. Felt like all the lactic acid in the world concentrated itself into my quads and from them on was running through treacle. That'll teach me....:(
Et toi, DT? What's next for thee?

Got to go mate - time to do some work :p
A good 13.13 Miles across Pex Hill and Sutton Manor this afternoon on the trail and hill paths. Enjoyable run again today in quite warm conditions. Total of 47 miles so far this week.
Up Hambeldon after doing loads of gardening, nice and warm today. That's 2 runs in 2 days now  Bring on Whittle Pike.
40 mins run from home after bike commute (first dry ride home of the week:)).
Good to get a run in after feeling crap all day yesterday.
Hi all,
Having just purchased a Garmin 305 i hope you don't mind me adding some training posts. It helps with the motivation :)
10 mile/2200' 1hr 14 mins, mixed trails along Offa's dyke.Great weather for running today, run got rid of the headache i had all day at work.
2.1 miles. Might not seem much but I was taking the future of English fellrunning out for his first training run. 7 years old and now in training for a tilt at the English Champs in Bradbourne on August 24. :)
Having clocked up 100 miles for the week. I embarked on our chunder mile after which I wobbled home :D
A quick 3.5 mile this afternoon on the roads of Cronton.
Back down to 3 hours for this Sunday.
Really enjoyable 13 miles over Lochnagar just outside Ballater. End of a big week for me anyway: 75 miles on the bike and 43 running, mind you, a fair ammount of plodding was done in the last few miles today. Good though.
Managed 50 minutes this evening after work on tracks and moor and up & over Hambledon. Good chill out session after being couped up inside since half 5 this morning. Was the warmest & sunniest bit of the day looking at the today's weather graph too.
Tried some reps today.20 min warm up,although that was 2.6 mile/900'
Then found a loop of about 400 yards, approx 120 down,200 flatish,80 steep up to finish.4.30s blocks x 6 flat out.Worked out about 2.45 on with 1.45 rest.Pretty happy, flat out with last rep only 3 secs slower than first.Went back same way as i came.
My garmin 305 didn't seem to like the dense woodland i did the reps in,got back expecting to see 6 stages of consistant peaks and troughs but even the map route changed for each lap.Very dense with over hanging canopies so not too dissapointed.:)
A slightly easier than normal Monday 5.4 miles at lunch time and 5.8 miles after work.
A light 4.5 mile up and around Pex Hill this afternoon.
Track session at Sports City.
5 x 300m, 3 x 500m, 5 x 300m, 3 x 500m, 5 x 300m.
Somehow managed to stay dry when training.
10 Miles this afternoon after a day shopping in Liverpool. Tracey took Olivia home in the car whilst I ran from the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool.
I headed off up Mount Pleasant and past the Universities and then out along Edge Lane and onto the Rocket. From the Rocket headed through Bowring Park and into Huyton then followed Tarbock Road to the M62 Motorway Junction. From here I headed along Cronton Road and back into Cronton. A nice run today with fine drizzle all the way which was nice with odd heavy shower. Still a warm afternoon.
6 miles of towpaths and roads , felt fine , and praying pf doesnt return
Thought I'd add my training to this thread, as now I'm properly training for something...
Yesterday - 7.5 miles (road). with 4.5 miles - RTYP
(which means; run till you puke:))
Although stricktly speaking I managed to hold it in.
Today - Recovery.
7.5 miles total incl Esholt Bash race (c10k).
A wet and boggy experience - Mickleden race route last night, low cloud and drizzle all the way round for 2+ hours. V. "moist" underfoot and not a soul to be seen. Magic! :p
Incidentally, I haven't been round the course for some time and saw that the track along the 2nd half up to Cut Gate has been consolidated significantly. Should speed things up for Mickleden, Grin & Bear It as it won't be that tricky to pick your feet.
5ml Yorkshire Vets Grand Prix trail race near Harrogate. Great fun - £2 EOD and a nice route with plenty of mud. Oh, and I beat my boss, Alan by 50yards!
Warm up, 5 x 5mins off 2 mins jog, warm down. Nice day today for once!
6 miles flat XC in 43 minutes. Rest tomorrow then bike session on Monday.
8 very flat miles around Jesus Green area in Cambridge.
After mondays efforts,i had a slight ankle strain. With a race tomorrow and next wed decided to rest tues, wed, thurs.Did a 4.5 mile/900' around lanes fri and 4mile/600' tonight as a tick over for tomorrow ! Just a case of keeping legs moving and clearing the lungs out.
