Just a very light 4.42 mile today around Pex Hill on the soft ground. Took it steady due to tight calf from a few days ago that now seems to have eased. The stretching exercises seems to have helped a lot as well.

The Edges with Fleeter, Greenfield upto Alphin, Wimberry, Top Res, Fox Stone, Thomas Platt Memorial Cross, Alderman and than blat over the moor to The Cross Keys, quick pint whilst watching The Rush Cart Morris Men do their stuff (it's amazing how many Morris Men came upto us telling us how they used to be fell runners, is this a natural progression:eek:, don't think I will be putting bells on my Inov8's just yet). From Cross Keys back over to Greenfield...Cracking run, great way to while away two and a half hours. Cheers to Fleeter for the run..
cheers pal,was a good run
A nice steady run out over PPP route from Horton to Ribblehead with clubmates, followed by an excellent Steak and Old Speckled Hen pie at Helwith Bridge. A very pleasant way to spend a Bank Holiday!
did 12 miles saturday,10 yesterday,8 today all steady a good weekend running
Yesterday - 1 1/2 hours around Dovestones. Managed to get in three climbs onto the tops so quite intensive. It must have been "visit Dovestones annual day" yesterday - place was absolutely packed over the bank holiday Monday.
Yesterday: 1 hr 30 on bike with several all out sprints for as long as I caould handle it.
Today: gym weights and balance session for 45 minutes.

I can see speed sessions on the horizon !!
six miles road run today!
Carrbrook, Stalybridge, up Mottram Old Road, left at top and down the back road to the round about. Back up Mottram Road passed Roe Crss and down to Stalybridge main lights. Up to main road to bottom mossley and back through the old power station. Lovely run, all on road (well pavements!) Wet for the last 8 minutes.
Now where to run this afternoon.
2.24hrs up and around The Chew, Saddleworth...Walk/Run navigation, clag was down, Excellent stuff! Sat enjoying a beer now, bliss ;)
Will be tomorrow afternoon. on the resers if all goes to plan. Did 33 mins this afternoon from Woolley Bridge road, to the tip and along to Gamesley. Under the rail bridge, Howards park, up that steep hill, on to the trail for 20 yards, across the sloping football pitch and back to Woolley Bridge Road.
Also spent an hour at Hyde Lesuire centre. Similar to a Welsh Lesuire centre but with no sheep!
Two of us ran for 2 hours from the Bulls Head at Tintwistle this morning.
Rained most of the time, that fine rain that soaks you through!
Over Hollingworthall Moor and Hobson Moor and part of the Gravy Pud course.
Bulls Head under new management. No food yet but should be sorted by October we were told.
Was still closed and looking run down the other month when I was there. Glad to see it back open again. I was concerned where the David Bray race would run from and even more importantly to me, where the Gravy Pud would run from!!!!!
You enjoying the school holidays Swoop, or do you miss the nice six weeks off us teachers get? You not fancy dusting off the maths books ready for next week?
I just can't bring myself to plod round those resers with all those luvly luvly moors on each side - I do try to make the effort and do some intervals down the trail now and again though:rolleyes:!
A 5 miler last night up and round the back of High Hill over Settle; I felt like I had found an extra gear too which is nice.
7ml or so steady with club last night.

33 mins round Mossy Lea, back to five runs now as Cricket season is coming to a close, will build up to Seven + , regain a proper base, start some sessions and choose some races !!
Short 4.6 mile tonight on the roads of Cronton and Rainhill.
Last night -Easy "stumble" over to Churchhill playing fields track, Greenfield. 3 x pyramid at 25/50/75 + 100, followed by 20 mins diagonals on the soccer pitch... Not run on a track since school days, some of the lads had organised the track session, a nice change bit of variety! Realised that I am no longer a gazelle more of a mule :D
4m to work last night. 4m home this morning. Hope this inspires someone to get out for a run today;) Its inspired me to go to bed:D
Tempo run. Woolley Bridge Road, Hadfield, Redgate, Old Glossop, round the mill, up Snake Pass road to Glossop Golf Club, over Moorfield and back in to Symmondley. Back via New Shaw Road.

Surprised I could run on a track full stop, it's the first time I have run on a flat surface for a couple of decades:D. Back on the hills today though:)..
The straight by the river was slightly less underwater than the other side, Fleeter and Shaun were busy doing 400's or as it was known last night the Churchhill Duathlon, 200mtrs run, swim 100mtrs around top bend and 100mtrs run to finish...
What kind of pace you going at on these runs Alphin? You seem to have a good run there, one which I do many a time. Like to run over the tops to Black Hill and down to Crowden Campsite. I make my way back to Carrbrook village via Lads Leap route.
Steady rest day- 6 miles all on road.
