A dusting down to 500m over High Street way this morning. Surprised how low down it is. Mind you, it's pretty fresh up here at the moment.

Nice one Stolly, I was over High Street way today and have to say the Helvellyn ridge looked resplendent in white! I don't know about Fairfield, but on High Street there was a hard crust of wind-blown snow on top of about 6-8" of powder that was difficult to walk through let alone run on. After a few miles of that I was well and truly done in, and my lower shins have taken a hammering.
hmm, I was thinking of doing Kentmere Horseshoe this week...
does anybody know if this would be a good/bad idea...?
similarly my other option in Snowdonia of Siabod/Moelwyns - anybody know what the snow's like along there...?
Can't help you there DazTheSlug
But we had snow and ice on the sheltered parts of the beach today
