There's been a lot of impressively long runs today by forumites.
I decided not to go to the Black Combe race today, then regretted it a little. So I've had a late afternoon training run to Loughrigg and was very pleased to get within 30 secs of my race time. Just a bit more speed training and I might yet break my 40 mins target.
A nice 14.2 from Bin Green CP to Chew, Black Chew Head and Black Hill. 2360 ft of ups and downs in 2hrs 43mins. A bit claggy, but nice.
Really should have done Black combe today and kind of wish I had but family stuff took over. I raced the last two weekends on the trot so its not too bad. Made do with 12 miles and 1400 ft. 1 hr 40. Ideally need to be getting more gradient than that but was a good run nonetheless.
Slightly odd route yesterday from Honister over to Styhead, then the Corridor Route to Scafell Pike and Lords Rake/West Wall Traverse to Scafell. We dropped in to Wasdale and with time and light against us went the direct route up Kirk Fell (what a slog!) and took Moses Trod back to Honister. Weather varied from absolutely chucking it on the way over to Styead to super thick clag on the Scafells to sunshine in Wasdale to hail and a gale on Kirk Fell.
A cold and wintry run over Capplestone Gate & Grassington Moor first thing this morning, great fun in the snow stroll on summer
nice 10km run (on the road - recovery session supposedly!) - new PB for me in 58:04.
Only had time for 10 boggy miles with dog today, snow and hailstones at one point.
Had written today off running wise due to looking after poorly rug rats but was well chuffed when my better half got home early and I got a quick 6 miles in the late afternon sunshine. Even better as my ridiculously unpredicatble garmin watch decided to work for once!
Circuits at gym, effin knackered and seeing stars!!
