In the race info, kit must include 'emergency food'. Manothemoors please confirm what this constitues to?
A bit of chocolate, a jelly baby, a gel, a breakfast bar, a biscuit, a satsuma....just something to give your blood sugars a quick boost should it be required. If there is any more specific requirement than that I will get back (but there won't be).
There are 12 team places available. Just a couple of weeks to go. I'm not even running and I'm getting quite excited. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of these crack pairings trying to snaffle the bonus prizes.
£1,800 up for grabs...be in it to win it. ;)
Statement now appeared on front page.
The minimum age for runners in the Calderdale Way Relay on Sunday 11th May has been changed to 18 for all legs.
Is it a bit late for changing the rule after money has changed hands under the pretence that 16-18 could run the 5mile leg 3?
I have just downloaded the entry form and I quote
"Please be aware that:-The minimum agefor runners is 18 years on the day of the race, with the exception of Leg 3runners, where the min. age is 16 years and over. Veteran categories start at Male over 40 andfemale over 35"
I'm with you, Stagger, this is bloody ridiculous! Less than 2 weeks to go, teams finalised, entry fees paid. It's hard enough to raise teams as it is, with injuries & unavailability.
I would suggest that Leg 1 of the Ian Hodgson relay, which allows 16 year olds to compete, is a little tougher than the run up from Todmorden to Blackshaw Head! How on earth are the juniors meant to step up to the seniors if they can't take part in events like this?
WHATTTTTT !!!!!!!!!
Are they taking the pi..
After weeks of organising teams early in time to allow people to recce their legs they expect everyone to just swap everyone around the week before and it be ok !
Like said earlier the 2014 entry form states the leg3 age 16 and over limit and that's what clubs have paid their entry fees on the basis of.......do we now all get refunds and then have to re_enter on the new age rules the week before the event!
Let me look into this. I knew nothing about any change.
I believe that it may be an error.
I can't see that statement at the moment...will investigate though. I agree that it seems "off" to say the least.
