45 minutes on the road, first road run for at least 6 months, forgot how hard it is ,fells are a piece of cake
Asphalt is evil ;)
A piece of tarmac walks into the bar and orders a pint. He then knocks over a pint, which belongs to a piece of asphalt. The asphalt roars "Hey, what on earth do you think you're doing?" "Sorry mate, look, OK, I'll buy you another pint" - which he duly does. A little while later another road type material walks in and knocks over the asphalt's pint. The asphalt says to the new guy, "its OK, don't worry about it, I'll get myself a new one." The new guy walks away, and the tarmac asks the asphalt, "why didn't you shout at him." The asphalt replied, "can't you tell? He's a cyclepath!" :D
.....groan..... :(
What do you get if you cross a motorway with a wheelbarrow?
Run over.
Anyway, back to the training: 40 mins of thrashing up and down a boggy 1/4 mile hill. Bring on the bogs at the Grin n Bear It!
.....groan.....:( Not sure which was worse - yours or Ians! :D
I'm out on the fells tonight. Promises to be *interesting* tonight....!
Agree with the point re. tarmac. I ran home from work yesterday (about 12 miles on the roads) and had little niggles here and there. I can run for hours on the fells and have no problems at all. Think I will definitely have to reconsider the way I train.
I think you must be doing something right Marko - I see you are down for Tanky's errr... not Tanky's I mean.
11 miles on the road for a change. Not very interesting or scenic but it made me do a prolonged progressivly paced run. Finished pretty fresh.
To imitate Pinno for a minute, 3.087 miles tonight with 495.4 feet of ascent in 30:35 minutes, all off road and mit headtorch :D.
Actually they do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and, as part of my 'new regime', I'm determined to do some short and fast runs in the week, leaving my longer trawls for the weekend. And before you say anything, 30:35 minutes was fast for this little route, honest.
Finished work early, out in The Chew for 4pm...Took in Alderman - Binn Green - Thomas Platt Memorial Cross - Fox Stone (descent) - back up to Duckstones + descent - Plantation + home...easy pace 2.01.21hr...
Glorious sun on Alderman, raging monsoon at Tom Platt Cross, hurricane at Fox Stone, peaceful in the valley, typhoon at Duckstones and peaceful once again in the Plantation......Brilliant :D
Headtorch-lit hour or so wading around the Bronte moors from Haworth with the club. Cracking run out and the log fire and Jennings in the Old Hall was great too!
A similar head torch run for us except it poured it down, Hail strong winds very cold and wet. Joined by Jodg, Slippery Stones, Loxley Lump, Safety Officer, Darth of the Darkside, Loxley Chris and a cast of thousands.
Strines Inn-New Cross-Gravy Clough Cabin-(including 2 dodgy crossings of Abbey Brook in spate:eek:) and two ascents of Vertical heather( if I'd have leant forward I could have head butted Jan boots) Lost Lad-Back Tor-Blast Cabin-Strines Inn and a pint of Cock-a-Hoop :D
8 miles of heather bashing and 1500ft
Too true. :o
Great to see you again Darren, pity about G&BI. :(
See you at the next one. :p
Brilliant night run.....Greenfield (set off in mega downpour) - Dovestones - Top Res - Featherbed Moss Trig (weather cleared and the night sky was fantastic!) - return to Greenfield....1.53.00hrs

Edale-Fairbrook bridge-Downfall-Edale
Very Boggy in places and there was a icy cold wind. Shorts were ok though;)
Saw nobody on the top.
Shortbread and tea back at Andy's afterwards:D
Reverse Beamsley Beacon BOFRA route; c5ml/1000ft. Beautiful run-out in the autumn sunshine and no snow to report!

Greenfield - Plantation - Fox Stone - Thomas Platt Memorial Cross - descent and back via Tanners Mill.....1.25.01hrs....
B*ll&xed today, to use a Johnny Dawes quote from Hard Grit "I feel like the weight of two whales"...
Some days you fly some days you flounder
Great to get out though :D
3.7 mile on the XC route of Pex Hill in torrential rain late tonight.
daventry 6 road race this morning . first race in 14 months , took it easy and felt good ( and wet )
After a week full of cold/man-flu finally managed to get out for first run since last saturday - a 5 miler from home on usual mix of road, towpath, bridleway & field paths.
40 minutes recovery run around hartshead pike and mossley cross, lovley morning to be out running
5.15 mile this morning on XC and trail paths of Pex Hill very muddy after the rain. Lovely morning for running.
Been stuck in work all weekend so not done any  I escape at 12 bells tommorow so can't wait for a lovely 12 miles off road run come rain or shine :) (probably rain as I'm heading into the Rossendale valley!!)
No rain! 2 hours out over past Clowbridge res, nice circular route with great views. Clear as a bell when I set off but turned a little cloundy/hazy. Took my camera expecting to get some good shots of Stoodley and the Rossendale valleys but a bit too hazy. Took 1 towards Burnley with Pendle as a backdrop.
First run for over 50 hours today!!!!!
Up to the quarry, up to Alphin and down to Greenfield. Home along the Huddersfield Road back to Carrbrook. Feeling better today but legs a little tired. Hopefully will be back on sessions later in the week.
Another who didn't run yesterday and definitely felt better for it today.
12.8 miles of parkland and woods.
