Should have done Tom as I do think it is quicker - the climb towards Ashway isn't as long however tended to play follow my leader & too be fair the mountain rescue guys were at the foot of our descent.
Thats right - entered this year & looking forward to it - this weekends long run should give me a good indication as to how I will cope.
I went this way, although I angled to the right a bit - hadn't realised TT had recommended this route. Problem was that nobody else was going that way, so there was nobody ahead to chase and I was feeling a bit fed up having thought I'd buggered up my race. Lost quite a few places that way (I'd made excellent progress from the top of Alderman, overtaking several people in a strung-out field, got to Ashway stone just ahead of the slowest of them - so probably 5-10 minutes lost). Should also say I didn't find the good line of descent I'd found in my reccy.
My clocking was very similar to Duncan's, 14.03m & 3086ft. Once again many thanks, my first long fell race & one to remember.
