I see the "Comic" Hillbashers have a few runners taking part:D
We'd better watch this bunch though, cos someone will mess it up given half a chance - something like reversing the order, or starting from the middle and alternating, or putting their name in the wrong place. There are people who will go to any lengths to destroy the simple precision displayed in the list.

Does anyone know why you have to be a member of an athletics club to be considered?
Looking to build up to doing this in 2010 or 2011 but don't want to be a member of an athletic club!! But will do, if I have to?!!
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere/previously!!
If you're an FRA member, you put "FRA" on the entry form and you can get in apparently.
or, judging by your avatar, you might prefer SHR :)
don't be tempted to make up something as they will phone you up to check it's a real club - I got a phone call about my previous club as it had just been formed/affiliated back in 19oatcake when I first did the race.
you'd better get into training now though for 2010, heck, I'd better get into training for this year....
Thanks for advice.
Was thinking about joining the FRA so this would probably kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Does anyone know if this counts for an affiliated club for non fell races?
Have started my training for the Snowdon Race in July, hoping that I get in, so this should be a good base to build on for the Ben Nevis race in 2010?!
read next issue of fellrunner, fra membership will equate the £5 levy And get you the UKA card
iam a ben virgin,so can anyone put me right on footwear for this one, fell or trail shoes?ive got mudclaw, montrail highlander or trailfox.iam also waiting for a pair of adidas kanadia to come,i heard some good reports so i thought i would give em a go
You will need the best grip you can get, both for the up and the down.
Mudclaw 330s for me.
Offer plenty of grip and support on the rough stuff. (Usually Struggle down Red Burn though :) )
I'll be on Mudclaw 270s ................. unless, and probably even if, we don't do the steep grassy bit on the way back down to Red Burn.
Used mudclaw 330's last year, took a bit of a beating but worth it, same again this year
don't wear trail shoes - stick to out and out fell shoes. I wore the new NB's last year (see avatar :) ) and although not perfect for the grassy bank and grip seemed a wee bit worse than the mudclaws on the loose stuff they keep out the crap thanks to the fancy wee collar thing and have a wee bit more cushioning for the road back.
cheers folks fell shoes it
And for the road bit I recommend........a skateboard
...and for the Red Burn descent I recommend...........a sledge:D
...and from the trig. I recommend a .....parachute. :)
Not much comment re Walshes? Are they a No-No?
The more aggressive the better, but preferably something with good grip on wet rock too. I found the rock steps on the lower parts of the tourist path very slippery in 2007 in Gladiators. This is where a newish pair of Mudclaw 270s come into their own, but don't expect many more races from them.
Just watched a couple of dvd's on this race 2006, 2007, kindly lent to me by the Stagger's. Mr Stagger has a starring role in the 2007 one.
It looks a b@st@rd, looking forward to suffering, big style, in september:cool:
Wonder if William Wallace ever ran it?
Aye Laddie, Lord Rockingham started it:cool:
