Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Dark peak night race last night. over mam tor, Lord's seat, edale and back over mam tor.
First run out with my new headtorch, a supposed 1000+ lumen job from eBay for £21!
Torch seems good, only major issue was I forgot to order a UK adapter with it so started the race with whatever charge came over from China... Almost made it round, gave up just as I dropped off mam tor! Luckily I'd put a spare in the bum bag.
All in, co excellent trip out, think there were a couple of other forumites out too.

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
:o
One hour brisk and hilly road run over towards Silsden over Cringles and back home. Hint of drizzle in the air but more fun than I expected. When do entries open for the Leeds Abbey Dash? :closed:

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
5 miles / 1,000ft with the club from the White Lion including now mandatory mid-week sweet stop around half-way round. Ilkley Black and home-make steak and kidney pie were both excellent in the Lion

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Quick five miler with my head torch on last night. Bit too much mist really and a lot of light bouncing back. Very wet on moors behind our house in Carrbrook.

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Easy club run tonight, quite a pleasant trot about.
Couple more easy weeks to let the joints recover then time to start training for the Fling and what lies beyond
-
Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Bit windy out tonight. Lots of stars. Is it ever not going to be really muddy and boggy again?
Missed DT and Stef. xx

Re: Tonight's headtorcher

Well your route organiser obviously needs to be more creative.

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
I would have thought missing a week you would have asked the question "Where did you run last week?"

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
35mins or so on the road this morning :closed:

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Solo bat-run in the fog... decided to cut it short when my instincts and the compass disagreed.:o

Re: Tonight's headtorcher

Thought the car park was a bit "full" when I set off :D
Went up via the crags so missed you all
very interesting navigating going up using torch on 0.4 lumens

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Fourth run in four days for me and blooming hard work tbh. Good evening in the Lion afterwards mind, and had a nice chat with Auntie sally and a quick stroke of Galileo

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Night Nav race last night but not really fully fit at the moment which is worrying with the TOP this weekend.
Quite a big turn out 30+? Mountain Boxer turned up for his first DP run. I think he enjoyed.
One casualty that I patched up in the pub but stitches needed.
Rumour has it I may have scalped an elite forumite with local knowledge but not seen final results yet so I'll wait and see ;)

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Cheesy, chicken pasta bake with Copper Dragon Victorian Porter to wash it down. Oh, we went for a run before too - around 4 miles / 700 ft? :closed:

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
For flips sake, Emily will see this... couldn't you have made it 7.
Nice vegetarian pasta to boot.

Re: Tonight's headtorcher

Don't worry, I will take you on a nice tour of Bradley/Skipton moor next week to celebrate the full moon . Will be six exactly. Will have to park at Brad.

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Nothing to say really except it was a beautiful night for my 16 Km run. It was so bright with the almost full moon allowing me to knock 4 minutes off last weeks time!

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Interesting run on Cock Hill, Glossop last night with the club. A startled/dazzled grouse flew straight at me and gave me a smack across the chops!

I went out for a run with GlossopDale a couple of months ago, fantastic run, really enjoyed it. The fast group really pushed me to the limit. Only downside was I struggled with an I.T band injury for a couple of months afterwards.

In the summer GlossopDale tried to loose a load of Pennine members in the bogs of Bleaklow. As they say "revenge is a dish best served cold" :sneaky:

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Dragged myself up Hameldon this evening & donned my new compression socks. Socks OK, batteries not - good job it was a full moon!
-
Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Lovely night over Mickledon tonight. a good frost and stars a plenty.

Re: Tonight's headtorcher
Splendid night in Airedale with 14 club-mates including Stef, millipede, K1M plus Auntie Sally and his dog Gaz. Jupiter looked very close to the moon and I claimed the best Uranus joke of the evening
