Possibly, my partner is looking a little iffy at the moment. Will know for definitely by midday. Been round it last year, so know the way - including how not to get off Scafell.

My partner has dropped out with a mangled angle so im looking for a replacement too.

Applications on a postcard please.

No beards, fancy tights wearers, fatties, introverts or running bores please.

(that should have ruled out most people on here so i may get my lie-in after all!):wink:

I have a partner but we need one for a mate who's partner is injured. I will pm you and you can text or phone me if your partner drops out. You know its easier to find a wife on the internet than someone to run 37ms? I wonder why?

Yes I thought we had it cracked there! Never mind? I have been through all the Shropshire possibilities who we can think of. They are all doing the Houseman Hundred next weekend and saving themselves!! Can you believe that? I think someone will turn up though as we get nearer the wire. What was Karl doing racing on the wed?

Knowing Karl he probably had a score to settle with some Geordie road runner.....its a real shame coz he knows how much i enjoy watching him suffer....always puts a spring in my step!

OCT website says something about "last minute information" can't read it because of work IT policy. Anything important?

Same as it was don't think there is anything new on there. Perhaps they are making it into a 5km road run due to bad weather? Your work must be strict banning you from Achille ratte!

Hoorah! The Ambleside boys are victorious!

Gary Thorpe and Dan Duxbury won in 7 hrs 5 min with Tom Brunt and Martin Beale second in 7 hours 27 min.

Some pretty grim weather for those further down the field.

Huge thanks to everyone at Achille Ratti for today's OCT and especially to the marshals on Coniston Old Man who had some fairly fierce conditions to put up ( as well as the runners ;-))

We almost didn't have three teams starting thanks to Adam's arrival in shorts and vest with just five minutes in hand. Unfortunately Alan and Lee had to pull out at Angle Tarn due to cramp, so only two finishers from Pennine.

Thanks to everyone involved with this great event. It was my first OCT and will come back for more despite the hideous conditions up on Coniston. What a great event. A big, big thanks to organisers and marshals especially the people lying in their tents up on COM who deserved a medal for endevour in braving those conditions.

First one for me as well, as above a big thanks to the organisers and marshalls, COM was horrendous, glad to get away from it and back to Langdale. Marshalls are salt of the earth people. Well done to all that finished, or had a go, well done Muddy and mate for winning the first female pair (i was running with Gerry, with the hole in my shorts and the pink pants underneath!)

My first OCT too, and thoroughly enjoyed it, apart from a dodgy stomach between angle Tarn and Scafell Pike, and the weather conditions on Coniston Old Man.

Congratulations to everyone who completed the Old County Tops yesterday in conditions that couldn't have been any more different from last year. A big thanks from me to all the marshalls and helpers from Achille Ratti and Raynet - without you we have no race. It is fantastic to see runners still smiling at the finish - makes it all worth while as far as I am concerned. Next year's race is on May 19th. Hope to see you there.
PS One negative - the runner who left his partner after Cockley Beck and span a yarn to the marshalls on Coniston Old Man and Three Shires Stone - this is breaking one of the golden safety rules of the event - you are not welcome at next year's race.

First time on this one and longest fell run to date as well. Just under 9 hours and a great day out. The organisation, food and marshalls were all excellent. Even the conditions on COM couldn't dampen my spirits, the rest of the weather was helpful with the cloud sticking on the tops only and providing some great views as we dropped out below and the wind for the most part assisting on the climb up Helvellyn.

Never thought I'd enjoy an egg mayo sarnie quite as much as at Cockley Beck though!
